  • Wardak:4 healthcare centres inaugurated in Maidan Wardak

Four new healthcare centres have been inaugurated in central Maidan Wardak province, officials said. The healthcare centres were built in Behsud district, the provincial governor’s spokesman, Shahidullah Shahid, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The general department of administrative affairs head, Dr. Sadiq Mudabir, and Maidan Wardak governor Halim Fidayie attended the inaugural ceremony of the healthcare centres, he said.
The centres were built at a cost of $1 million which was funded by the Turkish Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT). The new buildings are also equipped with new medical equipment, Shahid said.
Provincial public health director, Dr. Ghulam Farooq Mukhlis, asked the Ministry of Public Health to build a hospital in Maidan Wardak as people have to travel o far to get their illnesses seen to.
There are now 20 health centres in the province.
Shahid said the foundation stone of a district centre building was also laid by the officials. The building will cost 12 million afghanis and will consist of 17 rooms on two storeys with a meeting hall and some other facilities. It is expected to be completed within nine months.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
