  • Etisalat launches employee succession plan

Etisalat Afghanistan launched an employee succession program in collaboration with the UAE-based Etisalat Academy at a luxury hotel in Kabul on Tuesday, said a spokesman for the multinational mobile phone company said. The launching ceremony was attended by Yousaf Al Sayed, chairman of Etisalat Afghanistan, Chief Executive Officer Saeed Hamad Al Hamli, Deputy Minister of Communications Saadat, Baryalai Hasam, deputy minister for technical affairs at the Ministry of Communications.
Etisalat spokesman Imran Afzal Janjua said General Manager of Etisalat Academy David Brennan and Afghan government and UAE Embassy officials were in attendance. The agreement was signed by CEO Saeed Hamad Al Hamli, and GM Brennan.
The initiative was in line with Etisalat Afghanistan’s longstanding resolve of partnering in the development and enhancement of human capital and skill levels of local employees, Janjua said in a statement.
"As we continue to invest and expand, we are committed to supporting the enhancement of human capital and skill levels of our workforce in Afghanistan," Saeed Al Hamli told the ceremony.
He hoped the employee succession programme would usher in a new era of skilled local workforce to steer the company to new heights by stimulating the economic growth and development of Afghanistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Brennan said: "Etisalat is deeply committed to enabling the lives of people across Afghanistan through access to the highest quality, modern communications."
Baryalai Hasam characterised the Afghanistan-UAE relationship as deep-rooted and durable. He commended Etisalat's role in terms of investment and provision of telecommunication services throughout the country.
The agreement spells out a total of 47 training sessions, lasting 143 days and involving 416 employees. The first training session will commence from September 26th and. A series of programmes for successors would continue through the current year, Janjua concluded.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

^ Na mate Pakistan is actually pretty ahead of the game as far as telecom is concerned ..we have the world's largest wimax network (3G)..PTCL just launched world's first EVO 3G network, its based on the 3G CDMA Rev.B tech

but ofcourse there are different kinds of 3G networks, what your talking about is a wireless thingy, it doesnt come on the phone..Pakistan already has the world's largest 3G wimax network, this new 3G auction will be for cellular
companies..and i have lots of expectations from it
And chances are we will be seeing 4G as soon as it hits the market

Mobilink Planned To Launch 4G in Pakistan

Mobilink has planned to launch 4G (fourth generation) technology in the near future in Pakistan with the belief that the market can leapfrog to accept the new technology.
