Our Development

What is our development? This is maybe a long shot, but I believe that development begins within-just as real change begins with in. If the vessel is dirty on the inside it can help no one really on the outside.

I referred to this in my posts in the Religion section. Often in this site we speak of fighting and war and justice or the lack of it. If I had my choice I would be a pacifist. This makes it hard to read some things here.

Just as Allah has told us that the best garment is that of righteousness (7:2) , so also are the inner treasures our true wealth.

"You can destroy those who come to seize your inner treasures, but not those who come to seize the wealth of earth, air, fire, water, ether, mind, and desire. Those are the very things which destroy you! Allah never said to fight for those things. You should fight those things that come to destroy the goodness within. They are your enemies. Fight them! The plundering of your land and gold, your blood ties and ancestral heritage, or other material things has nothing to do with your dignity. It is the treasures of Allah that are your honor and dignity. It is these inner treasures that you must protect with respect and love. To lose those treasures is a loss of dignity, a disgrace! You should reflect. This is what Allah has said.

Allah never told you to wound or kill your brothers and sisters. If you behave as they behave, then what is the difference between you?"

I find this war that we as humans continue to wage in very very painful.....and if it separates us from Allah, then really is that worth it?

Forgive me if you find my words wrong, I am simply trying to find the path that brings me comfort when I kneel down on my prayer rug.

Afghans must unite to ensure that their differences are not exploited by foreigners. Pashtuns being the largest ethnic group must take the first step of reconciliation with Tajiks,Hazaras and other ethnic groups. I know Pashtuns are proud of their culture and language. But they must give equal respect to the culture of other ethnic groups.

Look at India's history: British used Tamil troops to kill Sikhs, Punjabi troops to kill Bengalis. But today all these nationalities are proud members of Indian State. We have more than 22 official languages.

Gandhi said An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

India's development and progress is due to the Industrial vision of Nehru. His ingenious steps of vanishing states within states, limiting property, encouraging industries was the real cause for the successful democracy and continuous progress of India. It was due to that vision that today India is emerging as a world economy ,largest democracy,most fastly growing IT industry, one of the largest market to attract investors from across the world and a probable candidate for the next world power after getting permanent seat in UN.

The muslim majority states are backward due to their specific interpretation of religion ,their tribalistic social norms , visionless leadership and main reason being lack of focus on science and technology.

I agree with you but can you offer us a political answer for our miseries and constant torture. We as Muslims agree that Allah is almighty and caring but politically what can we do to improve our standards? Pak Army enjoys killing us, Nato makes a living off civlians deaths.

We are peaceful people but we are being demonized.

Of course I do not expect anyone to just take abuse. Certainly I have gotten my own self into trouble numerous times because I do not suffer in silence. I guess it is about finding the right path to fight injustice, the path with the most results!

Were the reformation and renaissance movements against monarchs or against irrational interpretation of religion?

By the way I said "specific interpretation of religion" not religion.
