PASHTUNFORUMS AID For Flood Victims in Pakistan

Dear members and visitors of Pashtunforums,

as you know, the situation in Pakistan worsening is every day. And the victims of the floods are not receiving enough aid and help. While some of us might be capable of aiding their friends and relatives, others don't have any contacts they can send money or any other type of aid to.

Since Pashtunforums is a community of Pashtuns from across the globe, we should be able to use this community as a means to provide the aid to the affected people.

If we collect some money and donate it to a particular group or entity that is actively engaged in relief efforts, would be of great benefit. But we need to help each other and provide assistance to those who are willing to help, but don't know how and who to approach and contact.

So please, participate in this thread for a collective effort to help each other to find the right channels to send aid to the affected areas.

I am unable to send anyone any money or whatever, because I dont know what is the the most effective channel. So I would be glad if anyone could tell me what is needed and whom' can I contact.

I have some questions and i am sure all the members will ask the same questions or one of the following questions


1. Who will collect the funds?
2. will the funds go to pashtoons too?
3. Are pashtoons more effected or sindhiz and panjabiz?
4. Y should we pay for panjabiz?







Pakistan's government is rich enough to make Nuclear..
Rich enough to support groups in afghanistan and kashmir
Rich enough to buy new weapons from china and everywhere else..
Now they dont have money to pay to their own ppl?


The money we pay, it wont go to Pashtoons
This money will go to sindh and panjab

We need a Pashtoon, a real pashtoon to collect these funds and take it directly to pakhtonkhwa and distribute it .. Pashtoon's help should first reach pashtoons

If i pay to the fund raising agencies, they will take it direct to panjab.. Might be 10 % of what i pay will reach the pashtoons, the rest 90 % wil be in panjab

Angaar, for once leave tha fascism. Everyone is suffering. It doesn't matter who you help. Who cares if Punjabis rule Pakistan? Today thousands of Punjabis are suffering. If you could help any person, would you first ask him where he is from?

I prefer to help the ppl of wardak,laghman and other areas of Afghanistan.
I prefer to help the mahajirs who returned from Iran
I prefer to help My own Pashtoons suffering from poverty in Afghanistan and Pakistan... My help should first go to my blood then to panjabis

They were collecting money in a masjid (san ramon, california) for the flood victims.. guess who was collecting? A panjabi.. so do u think it wil go to pashtoons? Hell no... it wil be given to those sindhis who are killing our brothers in karachi and peshawar.

Who is living in Khyber Pakhtonkhwa right now and will want to take the funds and share it or distribute it to pashtoons over there????

UWT Pakistan Emergency Flood Appeal

Alhamdulillah, since Inception of Ramadhan Appeal ( Inc Flood Appeal over £1.3 million has been raised.

UWT has nine Medical Camps set up, six in Nowshera, three in Charsadda. They have treated 18,936 people (15.08.2010).Images at bottom of page.

UWT has set up 3 tent villages, each village consisting of 100 tents, each tent can accommodate for 8 people.

UWT is providing cooked meals to 10,000 of the affected people daily. (Video Below) Through your donations we have fed 499,000 (15.08.10)

UWT is therefore calling upon our valued donors to help us raise £2 million towards emergency packs for the people affected by these floods.

Each Pack will provide a family between 6-8 people with the following items:

* Tent - £50
* Medication - £20
* Clothing - £30
* Food Items - £65 (10KG ghee, 10KG Rice, 10KG Pulses, 40KG Flour, 4KG Salt, 2 Packet of Matches, 15 KG sugar, 900ltr Mineral Water & Burning Material)
* Utensils - £25 (6 Tea Cups, 6 large plates, 06 small plates, 6 spoons, Jug with 6 cups, Basket, Tea cups, Small Cauldron. 1 Large Cooking Spoon, Kettle & Water cooler.)


Total Pack - £190

Please note that the cost of the Emergency pack has now risen form £50 due to the inflated market value of food due the disaster, this is the reason why the Food Pack costs more that the Iftari Packs.

Reconstruction


Shelter Price £750.00 The size 10x10 feet is not sufficient for 6 persons. For 6 persons is 12x12 feet is sufficient along with 4x6 feet kitchen & 4x4 feet toilet. It will be a one family unit. It will be made by 1.5 x 1.5 inch squire pipe as a pole & ceiling with corrogated sheet, Floor will be 1:4:8 concrete, Kitchen with kitchen utensils & Toilet with commode, seat & wash basin.

Masjid Price £350 Cost of Masjid which will be built from Bamboos excluding loudspeaker & floor mat, will be temp masjid in the Tent Villages

Masjid Price £500 Cost of Masjid which will be built from Bamboos including loudspeaker & floor mat, will be temp masjid in the Tent Villages

Masjid Price £3,500 Cost of Masjid which will be built from Shelter sheet will be built in in areas once people have been relocated.
