  • Maternity Hospital Inaugurated In Paktia Province

A new maternity hospital, “Gawhar Taj Bayat”, was officially inaugurated recently by the Bayat Foundation in Gardez, the capital of Afghanistan’s eastern province of Paktia. Paktia’s governor, Juma Khan Hamdard, some members of the Afghan parliament and local officials attended the ceremony.

According to a press release issued by the Bayat Foundation, the new hospital “includes 20 beds, a delivery room, pre-operating and operating rooms, recovery room, a pharmacy, laboratory, modern equipment, examination room, waiting area, offices, with modern plumbing and modern electrical standards throughout the entire building.”

“Our hope is that by providing maternity hospitals like this in Gardez, families will have access to locally available specialized care,” said Ehsanullah Bayat, the founder of the Bayat Foundation.

Bayat is also the owner of the Afghan Wireless Communication Company and the Ariana Radio and Television Network (ATN).

    Hi, I am the source.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I believe all Pashtuns originated from Paktia because it used to be called "Pashtia" and then "Pakhtia" now its Paktia. Khost and Paktika provinces were also part of Paktia.
It's true in our (وردګ ) case...

Except for a military airport (USAF use) and a 10 million dollar prison that is about to get started. Other than that, nothing major, most of the NGOs and UN offices have left. There is no central government, majority of the district chiefs live in Kabul. There are plenty of already made projects that are ready to be implemented, but nobody goes there. They started working on a dam that was constructed by Sultan Mahmood Ghaznawi (more than 700 years old), it was funded by the Germans but the German engineers were kidnapped etc, that project too fell a part in the middle. PRT is about to start cleaning a dam (chak district) but that too isn't going to start anytime soon, not to mention it won't have a huge impact on the area anyways.

But education and patriotism wise, Alhamdulillah the youth is highly motivated, regardless of the bloodshed, night raids, bombardments and curfews.
Taliban were never a barrier in Wardak, they tried a little regarding the music issue, but most of the people do what they desire to do.
The Hezb e Islami group has mostly university graduates like Medical school graduates and other professionals amongst them. Even though the public is caught between the rebels and the invaders, education in general plays a positive roles...
There were no construction projects when the area was peaceful, they totally ignored it, and this was the case with majority of the Pashtun areas. Now that the resistance is getting fiercer day after day, they claim to rebuild Afghanistan.
I hope this answers your question, because it's not really a yes and no one.
