Afghanistan really needs some threes. When I last visited Afghanistan and we were riding trough Paktia to Khost, Paktia center was really empty almost no trees at all, no wonder its so dry. We really need to start a campaign to plant more trees.

I was watching a programme on Shamshad Tv and they were asking the people why they were cutting the trees, they said it is their only source of employment in that region and some people use the timber to heat their homes etc as there is no other alternative. I don't blame them as they are desperate butt he timber mafia needs to be stopped.

Yes I know, I dont blame them too, but people should be more responcible in cuting trees and I bet they cut more than what is actualy needed. Afghanistan is so dusty and dry, and its not just becuase we have not that much rain or water, we have enough for forests and trees, but I think the last green places will just dissapear and the climate will be even more harsh than what it is now.
