sure, the flights are not to benefit Afghans but to make sure the sheen stargee don't starve to death.

It's just a term to refer to "western outsiders", kind of like saying "toor makhai Panjabai/Pakistanai", not realizing the fact that we also have dark skin amongst us. Most of the rebels refer to their enemy (NATO/ISAF) as the "sheen stargo karwan" in folkways.

Yeah I know, I was traveling from Ghazni to Kabul and on the way in Salar they local shops were selling tons and tons of bottled water, Apple pies,crackers and whatnot. Yes, it comes from the food and logistics supply convoys that gets attacked by the insurgents, and the locals loot it afterwards and make some extra cash. The same goes with oil tankers and scrap metal from burnt trucks etc. That was in regards with how they import things like water, talk about apple pies and crackers.
