India to launch work on Kandahar university

The Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) on Wednesday announced India would launch work on a major science and agro-tech university in a month in southern Kandahar province.
A statement from MoHE said a meeting on how to facilitate work on the university and provide it with sophisticated technology, including curriculum, laboratories and research farm was held in Kabul and attended by senior government officials.
Work on the university would be formally launched next month and a list of requirements for the university was prepared by agro-experts and handed over to Indian officials, the statement added.
During his recent visit to New Delhi, President Hamid Karzai proposed the establishment of a university and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh committed to grant $70 million in aid. The university will be built on 2,030 acres of land.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Indian education system is extremely Good and probably the best in south asia

If i am not wrong Even Pakistan had established a university and a engineering college in Afghanistan in the recent past

It seems like Pakistan has helped Alot Afghanistan in education sector

                Higher Education in Afghanistan

The Prime university and most of the teaching staff was from pakistan under the education exchance program

And a much More good news from 2011

Pakistan will also provide higher education consultancy and other services to Afghanistan, including curriculum design, learning innovation, reforms procedures, university-industry linkages, setting up research repositories and human resource development.

In Pakistan every single institution is corrupt But the only one i admire is HEC.and Most important Dr atta ur rehman.Probably the best in Pakistan After Dr Abdus Salam.

in Musharaf Era The HEC budget was each year increased by more than 100% till 2006.
But in PPP period HEC budget was further decreased.

Thank God this year Again HEC budget is increased with a higher %age but not remember exactly

                In Pakistan

Punjab spends 24% of its budget on education,Earlier it was 17%

KPK spends 21% earlier it was 9%

Sindh spends 21% like KPK earlier it was 21%

While Balochistan spends 28% while under the past govt it was 6%.

Pakistan in the history for the first time had allocated this much higher budget for education.
I hope to reach 90% literacy rate by 2020 atleast.

India is the best friend of Afghanistan. Since the beginning India has all-ways helped Afghanistan. Looking forward to future friendship and partnership between Afghanistan and India.
Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

People with identity crisis will be ignored as well.

The way you put it, India may have a secret agenda that we may not know about. No country says it will help another country without a motive.

Oh great! now I am being paranoid like tons of other Pashtuns.

India is Good for Afghanistan but All because of the once northern alliance.
We all know Northern Alliance means Non pashtun in Afghanistan.

If a Civil war is irked in Afghanistan. They only will support Non pashtuns. This is the reason you should be happy as they will support you

Everyone have a purpose when they are doing something, and I mean literally everyone. Even Afghanistan which is in a bad shape have purpose behind their actions. Even individual people have purpose/agenda when they write or speak. You, me, everyone have something we wanna work toward. The only difference is that some are aware of that and some are not.

To put simply we as humans choice what benefit us most. Sometimes we may even have almost like a symbiotic relation with one another. That how alliance are created, because both parts find a benefit in the cooperation.

Basically what India is gaining by helping Afghans isn't our concern. The only concern Afghans should have is what is benefiting us and what gain we get from it.

We shouldn't judge by assumption or other non-proven factor's. The only thing we should judge by is proven facts.

I didn't understand a word what you said, but judging by your past comments and the words mention in this one, it something about civil war and supporters of Pashtuns/non-Pashtuns.

Lets get straight to the point.

                            - Afghanistan will not come to another civil war

                            - Even assuming there will be a civil war in Afghanistan, it will not be ethnically

                            - India have supported the Afghan government regardless of which ethnicity ruled it.

                            - Afghanistan have always been ruled by Pashtun which means India has supported Pashtuns.

You are a Pakistani, so I know where your agenda lays. To put it simple, Pakistan have always been hostile toward Afghanistan. Pakistan have done nothing but fueling a civil war in Afghanistan and promoting ethnic hatred.

Pashtuns have seen suffering by no one but Pakistanis. The reason I doubt there will be another civil war is simply because Afghans have awakened and now is more aware of Pakistani propaganda.

You are a fool if you think, there will not be another civil war in Afghanistan. I am not even Afghan and I know. Pakistani Pashtuns have long been the crutch of Afghans, but the time is drawing near that this brotherhood is over.

I will be one hunded percent honest with you when I say that your own Pashtun brothers across the border have more animosity towards you than Punjabis. I am not spreading propaganda, nor am I even asking you to accept my opinion as fact. I am just sharing this with you.
