  • Kabul Traffic System

The Afghan Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation (MoTCA) on Monday announced that the South Korean Transport Ministry has promised to support Afghanistan in building an efficient transport system for Kabul city.

MoTCA officials said that the project work will start post-2014 and is estimated to cost $1 billion.

Dr. Dawood Ali Najafi, Afghan Transport Minister, during his visit to South Korea, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with his South Korean counterpart. According to the MoU, the South Korean Transport Ministry will provide all assistance in building the transport system for Kabul city.

"10 years time will be needed to set-up a proper transportation system in Kabul. The project will cost nearly $1 billion and will be carried out in a phase-wise manner," explained Nangyalai Qalatwal, spokesman of the MoTCA.

A spokesman from the South Korean Transport Ministry said that prior to implementing the project, an institute for the Afghan and Korean experts will be established. At the institute, they will study and review the modalities of the project and prepare a blue-print for the same.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

The city needs to demolish thousands of buildings and roads in order to fix the problem. Any other neasure will be cosmetic. Structural problems wont be solved.

All the best. What the developing/under-developed countries need to do at once is 'plan' their cities in an efficient way. Every building that is constructed must be approved from a proper authority same goes for the houses only than can we solve such problems.

          Wish you all the best..

There is only one solution: build a new city in deh sabz according to 21 century standards and slowly demolish old Kabul step by step and redecorate it as thinly populated green oase like it use to be.

Like in 1992 ? Or when zia ulhaq said cabul must must burn ?

And since when you know how it used to be ? You have probably never been there in the present let alone the past .

You know instead of trying to destroy a city of history , a place which has grown by time , which have seen good times and bad times , an organic city .

You should feel free to burn down islamabad akakufrabad or riad , both concrete deserts planned by brits and construczed by americans .

But i think it is natural trait for wahabis to denie reality and truth and history create fake ideas , fake identities and fake cities like riad or islamabad .

We see what they have done with mecca shariffa , but no jihad there , the saudi clock tower is taller than kabba in directly in front of it . Toshow the world that saudis and wahabis are bigger than ....

Let alone the graves of true muslims and ghazis and shaids who are dishonoured by building toilets and shooping centers and parking lots on their graves.

Just a wait a generation or two and then those people will be forgotten as their sacrifices .
