The second Afghan-Turk international exhibition, showcasing industry products, began in central Kabul on Monday, officials said.
The three-day event is a joint venture of traders unions of both countries in cooperation with Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI). Various products of Afghan and Turkish industries are put on display at the show.
ACCI Director Qurban Haqju said 50 Afghan and Turk firms had brought their products in to the show having 15 stalls of Turkish products and 35 of Afghan products.
He said the exhibition was aimed at strengthening economic ties with foreign countries, especially with those having interest in consolidating friendship and economic relations with Afghanistan.
"Such exhibitions will increase foreign investment in Afghanistan and enhance our economic relations with foreign countries and pave the ground for export of Afghan products to European countries".
He said the Turkish products would help Afghan traders become known to new technology and would leave a positive impact on ties between traders of the both countries.
Agricultural machineries, food items, carpets, office and house furniture, electronic equipment and other products are being displayed at the exhibition.
Afghan-Turk traders’ union secretary general Murad Aqyouzed, insisting on strengthening relations between the two countries, said they would continue to cooperated with Afghanistan beyond 2014.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
