Cement factory to be built in Herat province
The Iranian company Peshgaman Sanat-i-Majad will invest $150 million in establishing a cement factory that will produce one million tons of cement in the Zinda Jan district of Herat province, according to a report today from Pajhwok Afghan News (PAN).
Afghanistan’s Minister of Mines, Wahidullah Shahrani said that this project will boost the country’s annual revenue by $10 million. Under the agreement signed with the Iranian company, Afghanistan will get a royalty of two dollars per ton of cement production and 20 percent of the factory income in tax.
The agreement also includes coal extraction. The company will give Afghanistan $20 as tax per a ton of coal extraction. The coal will be extracted from the Pahlawanan mine. Also, the Iranian company has agreed to construct 11 kilometers of road, hire Afghans for the work, and establish a clinic, and construct houses, as well as a masjid for the workers in the area.
According to the PAN report, a recreational park will also be created and education facilities provided for workers’ children. The report also added that this will not only increase revenue for the government, but will also reduce cement prices.

There are strong indications that you Westerners are deliberately keeping the south backward while developing the northern communities. It is time you stop making Pashtun a fuel of your blood-thirsty imperialism that you've been carrying out since 19th Century (your Anglo-Sexon brethren like Brits and then America).

^DMG... it's a news from an Afghan website. Did you see this site? I can tell you why I like it - because people making this site try to show better side of Afghanistan. That it is not a country of permanent war.
If you want to see any ideology behind - it's your business.

If you have some time - read my posts here then you will know how pro Western and imperialist my views are and what is the imperialist country I came from . Good luck

Ah, here is something from www.afghannews.com , especially for you.

"We are a group of independent Afghans with an intense love for our country. We are not part of the Afghan government, nor do we work for them. This site is also not some sort of public relations or propaganda project being run by the Americans or NATO.
        Our Mission
There is plenty of bad news being reported on Afghanistan – the seemingly never ending war, drug trade, corruption, human rights abuses, etc. However, there are good things happening in the country, and this news is rarely being reported. Even if it is, it’s buried underneath all the bad things that are happening. As a result of this, people rarely pay any attention to it. Our goal here at goodafghannews.com is to focus only on the good news, because the world needs to know that good things are indeed happening in Afghanistan.
Ever since the Taliban were removed from power and a new government was established, a lot of good things have happened. In fact, good things continue to happen. Now, we stress again that things are far from being perfect and that a lot of work still needs to be done, but for example, in the area of women’s rights, women do enjoy much greater freedoms. They are no longer required by law to cover themselves from head to toe in a burqa and sit at home. They are allowed to work, and even have the opportunity to run for office and play a role in the government. The Afghan parliament actually has many female members. Also, the school system is being continuously improved, with more schools being built and more people getting access to an education. In fact, more girls are attending school today than ever before in the history of Afghanistan. In other areas such as Health and the Environment, major advances have been made as well. Afghanistan has an actual working Health Ministry, and more children have access to medicines, and various vaccines to fight off diseases such as polio. Afghanistan’s Environmental Protection Agency has already implemented various environmental regulations to ensure land, water, and air pollution issues are being addressed. An endangered species list was put together, and such beautiful places such as the Band-e-Amir have been converted to National Parks so that they can be further protected.
If one were to sit back, and look at all these things, it’s easy to see that a lot has been done. Our job at goodafghanews.com is to continue to report on these great events as they occur. You can help us by visiting this site regularly, and even if possible, contribute news to us that you don’t see being reported. We welcome and appreciate support from anyone (Afghan or non-Afghan) that cares about Afghanistan."

Hey you're not Switzerland either. It's just because you were surrounded by imperialistic beasts that you are not an imperialist country. I'm sure Lithuanians would disagree with this anyways.

Good point Al Hanif Im not sure if there is any country with which we didn't have border disputes

Yes, my country is not neutral, I don't share our raison d'etat... Anyway, I am sure that my anti-imperialist and anti-American views make that I wouldnt have any chance for American visa (if I wanted to go there...btw -I never wanted).

if you had money to invest, would you do it in herat or kandahar? especially if you are iranian.

don't pull the hot headed anti western card when it suits you, which is almost never.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Why is everyone an enemy? Pakistan, Saudi... now Iran?... isn't this good for Afghanistan and shouldn't all Afghans appreciate this regardless of race?

Compared to Paki paranoia rooted in the fragility/artificiality of its nationhood and the tendency to defend it through provocation of real and proxy wars against others and exportation of terrorism/jehad to the all the neighboring countries, the skepticism of Afghans/Pashtuns regarding Pak etc. is based on real experiences during Afghan War when Pakistan, Iran, etc. left no stone unturned to keep Afg destabilized and under their control.

haiwansultana da fakr ne dai ou ne khairat dey de iraniano ya de bal cha .

can we do the same ? open manufactories in pakistan ? or iran ? can we pay govermental officals to close existing one , intimidate others and then open manufactories by our own ? as far as i know afghan can not even buy houses and propertie in napakistan .let alone mining concessions or such business.

and then do as if we are doing as if it is out of goodwill , they are doing it because they can do good money out of it . but not because they are more competetive than afghans are , no , because they have the unfair advantage of being able to command american puppets with plastic bags of cash !!!!!!

the money which is made goes back to iran , it doesnt stay in afghanistan , do you understand this ???

and the iranians took more than enough advantage out of us , we need a mirwais neeka or ahmad shah baba , to teach to those koss keshs and napakis some lessons , that happens to you afghan if you treat others to friendly and in the name of islamic brotherhood if you become soft to them , they forget their respect .....

those rats are worser than *****s , even a ***** without a mordagau is better then them !!!!

in times where gold prices are exploding and the monetary function of gold is coming back , they gave away billions away for millions !!!!

this gold should haven exploited by a govermental company and the gold should have been put into the safes of afghan national bank as reservers to strengthen our currency ......

i am not a friend of the taliban , i only hope among them there is a smart one who will have the balls to nationalize all this assets , i prefer even a talib jan or any one else who would take all into his own pocket then some one , who is selling off his country off to others ....

some one who is able to run a multi million dollar company or mine , dont dance to the dolls of others ......

I feel that years of turmoil, years of death and destruction have scarred the land. It has left a hand-print on the very stones of the mountains the Pashtun nomad clambers upon, It has polluted the very air the Pashtun breath's for survival.

That turmoil has left in its wake racism, bigotry, hatred, intolerance and immense corruption.

After the Rwandan genocide where 800,000 were killed differences between the Hutu and Tutsi were vast. They couldn't work together. They never trusted each other. One of the primary challenges for the government was to instill an environment of trust and eventually brotherhood between the races.

Though this is not about people within a Nation but I believe the same problem applies. Afghanistan's neighbors and superpowers have used her for their own gains which has made Afghans suspicious of foreigners and fiercely independent. But this independence comes at a price. Currently Afghanistan needs outside help to revive its economy. The country must now develop and deal with its suspicions of foreigners for success.

The best solution for this is to ignore racists like Damalakandghar and follow scholars like BarakzaiAbdali who can think rationally. Racism is an endless pit. It will lead us nowhere. We can keep insulting one race and the other but it won't find us half the solutions to our problems. Iranians, Punjabis, Americans, Pakistan, Farsiwaans, Kandaharis, Peshawaris, Kohati's, Hindkowaan, Russians, British... are all the enemy who have ravaged the Pashtun... Question is what has the Pashtun done for himself and is it really true the Pashtun is only a helpless victim in all of this? Clearly some of the Pashtuns must have made mistakes, everyone makes mistakes!

I am one of the most patriotic Pakistanis and ex leader of a chapter, a Nationalist front in Canada. I accept that my country has made grievous errors-many of which alienated Pashtuns. Is this so hard to accept as a Pashtun as well?

It is important for Pashtuns to realize that not everyone is an enemy. The Pashtun mind views everything with suspicion after years of war and chaos which still continues.

Personally I think Afghans should appreciate the construction of the cement factory as it will fuel employment. Even if the real money is really going abroad. Remember Afghanistan has an unemployment rate of 35% which is one of the highest in the world. And in reality if you are going to look for an Afghan who has the raw capital to invest in such a project you may not find one for the next 100 years. So its best to look for little windows in sky rather than searching for a huge portal to an unknown alien world.

thats the words of brainwashed pakistani , i have question there are turks or marrouks living for 50 years in europe and they still consider their selfes not germans but turks or marroucs.

how does it come that people like you identify their self with a country which exists barely 15 years more than this ?????

i deed your loyaltiy to your blood is weak .........

besides to this its total garabage what you are talking , you only show your own deficits of the understanding of political economic connections

our country has got more than enough ressources besides to its geostrategical uniqueness , we dont need no iranian peanuts , or any other direct foreign " investments " ..

we just need only a strong independent goverment , with well being of THEIR watandaran on their mind , not of those good muslims arround the world who dont give a ***** about us , than some kind words .....

its not a problem of ressources but a problem of will and leadership and in the last 30 years there was not much good of it in afg.....

is important for Pashtuns to realize that not everyone is an enemy
tell your fairy tales some where else , right the pakis especially out of punjab and sindh supporting afghans in their struggle .... oh wait no they supporting the american in their war for more than a decade , killing innocent muslims day in and day out .

but i fail to see a jihad against the kafirs in kufrabad ...... i guess jihad is just an afghan obligation .....
