  • 1,500 ANA soldiers, officers complete training

Nearly 1,500 Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers and officers on Thursday completed a six-month training course in Kabul, officials said.
The graduates were awarded certificates during a ceremony at the Kabul Military Training Centre (KMTC).
The officers received a six-month training while soldiers a two-month from local and foreign mentors, the KMTC public affairs officer, Maj. Shahpor, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
He said it was the 172nd battalion completing training in the centre since its creation in 2003. He said each battalion has 1,500 to 1,800 personnel.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Defence spokesman, Gen. Zahir Azimi, said the security situation in Afghanistan had improved during 2011 and would get even better next year.
He said the number and capacity of Afghan soldiers and police had considerably risen, leaving a positive impact on the security situation.
Afghan soldiers were conducting operations in unsecure provinces and the offensives would continue until security was restored, he said, noting improvement in Helmand province.
The Afghan National Army (ANA) strength went up to 180,000, with 95 percent of soldiers equipped with light weapons, the spokesman added.

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Saw this on the front page of our daily gossip rag (Stars & Stripes). Seems like everything is going according to the plan for the 2014 draw down.

One of the steps to winning an insurgency is for the host nation to take the lead in fighting the enemy.

                Buddy

Whether you like it or not,

This war is coming to an end. You can underline that 6 times

The ANA already suffers from attrition

At some point, it may collapse within a matter of weeks via attrition or simple "walking away"

Where have you left your logic, wrora? If the army breaks the soldiers will splitt themself and join their favoured warlords and keep fighting you. Your Paki sponsors getting poor. lol But don´t worry, every 18years old American, ANA, British, ... can fight you down and send as much as possible to hell. Your Talibanheroes can not fight against the ANA. Otherwise they wouldn´t act as suicide bombers or try to come as women under Burqas. What a shame, ... a shame for all Muslims and Islam. And you want to defend ''Islam''? Defend your own ghirat!
