If building of a girl hostel in khost or building of a park in kabul is big news in terms of development in afghanistan then we should be worried at the pace of progress and development there.

A country that has been at war for over 30 years and is still at war and has not got any developed infrastructure cannot have huge developments in a short space of time. Moreso when the governing institutions are full to the brim with corruption and self interest. The only place that is seeing any tangible development is Kabul. The rest of the country is in ruins. Therefore even the smallest developments become big news when the people and the country have so much problems.
