Primary school foundation
stone laid in Kabul
KABUL: The Ministry of Education (MoE) laid the corner stone of
Qala-e-Gudar primary school in Qara Bagh district of Kabul on Monday,
officials reported to the media.
The school building will be built in one story with 8 class rooms, 2
administrative rooms, 1 library, wells, water reservation and other
necessary rooms, which will cost $150000, funded by Anjelina Jolie, United
Nations Ambassador in Repatriation and Refugee Affairs, said Education
Director of Kabul.
Currently some 206 students are getting education in this school in an
open air or under the tent in mosque yard of the area, so by construction
of this school the students will be granted with better education
opportunities in the area.
Recently addressing a press conference Farooq Wardak Minister of
Education said that 7000 out of 14000 active schools are lacking safe
environment and compound throughout the country, which deems as
serious challenge for MoE, but the ministry will exert utmost efforts to deal
with the challenges soon.
