    13 schools in 8 different
    provinces to be completed
    over the next 6 months

According to a report yesterday from Pajhwok Afghan News (PAN),
contracts have just been signed for the building of thirteen new schools in
    eight different provinces in Afghanistan.

These schools will be constructed over the next six months, at a cost of
more than $1.6 million. These schools will give almost 8,500 students the
    opportunity to get an education.

Afghanistan’s Minister of Education, Farooq Wardak, announced that the
new schools will be built in Nangarhar, Laghman, Kabul, Ghazni, Herat,
Badghis, Kunduz and Baghlan provinces. Several different constructions
firms will be taking on the responsibility for building these thirteen different
    schools.

According to the PAN report, over the last ten years, over 10,700 school
buildings have been built all across the country.

Good effort but I hope we also get more colleges and universities in smaller towns so people can avoid moving to Kabul or the other big cities, which already got too many population than it can handle.

      +1

I do hope more schools are being established in rural areas, and also a proper national educational system.

It's a good news, but how is actual the educational system in Afghanistan, I alway hear the built here a school and there, but how do they actualy teach the children becuase I have my doubts that in those schools the kids are good educated, and bysides to have a school is like half work done, the other half is to teach the kids I hoope they do that in a good way.

I definitely agree. Lets wait and hear of more development in the areas you mentioned.

So far as Kabul from what i see, schools are developed. There is a school available in almost every district and neighborhood. But they are not reconstructed.

Well you have two different approaches, depending on if you live in the city or village. Kabul has textbooks for students, majority of the schools in Kabul city are sheltered. There are still some nice ones running with students required to wear uniform. They do learn basic ABC stuff as well in primary school. They have two shifts due to overcrowding. One is from 8 am to noon. The next is from 1pm-5pm. The teachers are on payroll, about $ 100-125 a month.

Then you have Laghman (an example of any village area). Where supplies are rare, majority of the time the students are outside on the dirt ground. And the teachers have volunteered themselves. Not sure if they get paid much really. Half of the time school is not in session due to security.

But overall, there really isnt a fixed educational system. In some classes you will have all kinds of age groups...learning the same material at the same pace. Even if they are older. But i do have to give props to the universities. They are decent for what it is.
