  • Kabul to have new Park

Work on construction of a new park at Khair Khana, 11th district of the
    Afghan Capital, Kabul has begun.

Bibi Sarwary Park is being constructed by the Kabul Municipality with
support from USAID and would be completed in 90 days.

The Municipality will construct a perimeter wall, sidewalks, solar lighting
facilities, and guard and maintenance rooms; install a gate, irrigation, and
playground equipment; and plant trees, shrubs, and flowers.

The USAID’s Kabul City Initiative Project would provide technical and
material support to the Kabul Municipality so that needed services can be
    delivered to residents of Kabul.

Although District 11 is one of the few districts in Kabul with a planned
layout, residents continually cite a lack of green areas as a problem. The
construction of the park would provide the residents with an area for
    refreshment and healthy activities.

Kabul desperately needs family parks! For family entertainment people usually go all the way to Qargha or even Paghman!

My family lives in Khair Khana.
There will be another park in Kabul as well.

KABUL (PAN): A recreational park, benefitting more than 5000 families, would be
established in the first Macro Ryan neighborhood of the capital, the Kabul Municipality
        announced on Sunday.

The foundation stone of the park, spread over 3.5 acres of land, was laid by Mayor
Mohammad Yunus Nawandesh. The USAID-funded park, costing $120,000 would be set
up in three months, the mayor said.

The park will have a boundary wall, a ground, sport equipment and chairs, as well as
basketball and volleyball courts. It will also have sidewalks, a green belt, an irrigation
system, a guards' room and a power supply system.

Nawandesh said more than 5000 families living in 1st and 3rd Macro Ryan,
Qala-i-Zaman Khan and Samant Khana would benefit from the project.

The mayor added the process of reconstruction and rehabilitation was underway in 84
areas of Kabul. The city would give a whole new look in the next three years, he
        promised.

they had that baagh e bostaan place in kabul which was said to be for families only. you could pay at the gate per member and sometimes they had neat concerts there that you could lay a blanket on the ground for and watch but a few months ago someone blew himself in front of the gate...i don't think anyone wants to be around that place anymore...

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.
