Cheers i will look into that, id love to see the profit margin difference and the gains the Chinese are getting compared to the amount of money they are giving for the lease. I probably dont want to know. Why doesnt the Afghan Government do the mining itself instead of making the country into a back-of-the-car-boot-sale country wide open for bargains.----------

I am collecting more info. Actually, many of the natural resources are untapped e.g., so far, the provinces in Pakistan were not allowed to launch hydro-electric power generation projects with capacity more than 50 Mega Watts. And the electricity could be produced only for domestic consumption.Originally posted by Manzareh View PostThanks for the info Toramana, Might be a stupid question but with all you mentioned is anyone taking advantage to all these $$$'s which are encrypted into our lands?
With the approval of provincial autonomy bill last year (April 2010), now provinces can launch their own mega projects for generation of electricity and also can acquire foreign loans for that purpose.
According to one study conducted by German experts, if only the tributories are used for hydroeletric power generation in KP and not the main rivers like Kabul, Swat, Panjkora, etc., 30, 000 MW electricity can be produced.Last edited by Toramana; 05-24-2011, 11:18 PM.
