Yeah, one time i had my father with me in Shar-e Naw.....he is walking behind me, and my cousin was walking ahead of me. And this guy that was standing at the edge came and touched my hand. I pushed his arm and my dad grabbed him by his shirt and hit him.

I hate how women cannot be safe there at all. Not sure about the boys though....makes me worried and its pathetic how the police do not do anything about this....i mean at least look over your citizens.

these besharaf men are not intimidated by the police so they feel to do as they wish, they even say bad things to older women.

i don't like crowded places in canada let alone kabul. i would just appreciate being able to buy a sack of potatoes with out being stared at for walking like "benazir bhutto's body guard" whatever the hell that means.
i am sorry to hear that laila. you should have turned around and ripped his face off.
but women being in police would get rid of these issues. that is why they are suggesting that women be in power equally so they can gain the confidence and defend themselves easily.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

The police will probably do much worse than what the guy did. Who are the police anyways?

Bismillah Khan Muhammadi, the guy who massacred thousands of people, looted houses and gangraped women is now a prominent figure in this government. What do you expect from the ordinary street cops when the leaders like people like that?

LOL, the US armed forces has a record of having one third of its female employees being victims of sexual harassment.

Every minute a woman is raped or sexually harassed in USA.

What do you expect from having a few more women in uniforms in a country like Afghanistan where women are considered even lower than cattle?

Those women will probably have to become prostitutes in uniforms.

Yeah hopefully women issues in public would be taken more serious.

I do wish to see this with my own eyes come true.

Oh i know right. We have the most retarded government on Earth, i dont expect anything from them, let alone the police.

Okay so one day i was walking in Chilseetoon with some of my relatives, literally this truck full of 10 police men in the back were driving slowly at our pace, whistling at us......all we could do was tell them off. Thank goodness, this kaka came and told them they needed to respect us their sisters.

in the us they have too many pointless rules.
i think it would do a lot for the women if everyone took this seriously. they should give them permission to use their weapons whenever someone does something slightly out of order. you can use a danda on animals to get them to behave why not men.

The Kaka was right. albeit I think those cops deserved an IED for what they were doing.

In sense this behavior of the men is due to cultural and Islamic restrictions/segregation and strict rules. Therefore they end up doing such disrespectful acts.

Women being harrassed is less common in west. Thankfully.

Since the present Afghan government and Afghan forces barely represent Afghanistan, they are trying various attempts to show the world the government is legitimate. Unfortunately without Pashtun support, the government will never succeed. Afghanistan can never function if the south does not cooperate. Hamid Karzai can barely exert influence outside of Kabul. Kandahar, Helmand, and many other southern provinces are not cooperating, that is a big a deal. Whether we like it or not, the Pashtuns feel more comfortable in dealing with their own kin.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Honestly, knowing Afghan men, it will not be taken serious. If this is a serious development, people will not take these brave women as anything. they will find it as some sort of joke.

I was really thankful for him. Because i am sure if it wasnt his due to his age....the police may have beat him up or something.

Not true. Both the East and West have a lot to work on. Neither sides are perfect.

I actually dont care much about the West. I have more expectations from my own countrymen, as an Afghan, Pashtun woman, as a Muslimah to be given the respect and decency from my Afghan brothers.

                          it is just sad
