faye, the point is, there is overall progress and the momentum has been set in these countries...it is saddening that no Muslim country is in the list of these emerging giants...except for Turkey...

thanks for the explanation. i wondered if the comment was directed at my reference to the poverty.
i am glad for these countries to be gaining power, don't get me wrong. i also realise what the so called '1st world countries' built their wealth upon. but i was back in india recently and i still see the beggars on the street and am aware of a lot of the social problems there. i also acknowledge that it is a huge problem for such a vast population to deal with. so of the actions, such as brazil handing over so much money and india sending rockets up just seems like bragging, to me.
