  • New hospital to be built in Kabul and Health Ministry to get $43 million to improve p

Pajhwok Afghan News (PAN) reported today that Afghanistan’s Foreign Ministry has said that the government of Japan has pledged to build a new hospital in Kabul. According to the report, the 80-bed, single-story building will be constructed in the Darul-Aman neighborhood at a cost of $31, 307,646. “The hospital will have all necessary equipment and provide treatment for patients of TB, HIV and malaria”, said the PAN report.
The agreement for the project was reached between, Akil Hakimi, Afghanistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, and Shige Yuki Hiroki, Japan’s Ambassador to Afghanistan. The PAN report finally said that, “Japan has spent $2 billion since 2002 on the reconstruction of Afghanistan and promised in 2009 to provide another $5 billion over the next five years”.
In related news, PAN also reported today that Germany has said that they will donate $43 million to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Health over the next 3 years so that it can be used in making improvements in public health services in four northern provinces.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Yes there is. I read a Pashto article a while ago on how many Afghans were infected. It's because of the new thriving prostitution market. There are many females from Thailand, China, and ther countries who serve as prostitutes in Afghanistan.

oh yeah, i completely forgot about the high percentage of prostitution, and considering the fact, many still use needles (drugs). I remember walking one day, forgot where, i could have sworn i saw about 5 needles just on the ground, completely exposed, and who knows who touched it and used it.

She has to wait 3 more years, i promise. My father is going to help me out with his connections. But until then, I have to increase my knowledge and finish college.

3years? I say wait 5 years and be properly trained. InshAllah, I hope by 2020 things will be a lot better.

Japan has promised billions in reconstruction, Asian Development Bank seems to be pouring in money in the Afghan economy. All we need is competent leaders.

Again, who are the only people that can resolve this situation???

                  You already know the answer.
Well how can we trace down the people who contracted HIV? I mean......many patients do not know they have it, symptoms may not show. Also in Afghanistan, patients do not have health history. They see random doctors every single time where ever they are available, they dont have the opportunity for proper healthcare, which they would be able to see the same primary physician, have their medical history updated, and such.

This is deja vu with Afghans, so sad. However, as far as the construction itself is concern, it is good news for the people.

If you read our history, it has always been foreigners who have built our nation. We have been so humbled and divided that we don't give back to our own nation, we are always at the mercy of foreigners in order to have mercy on each other.

I am glad that our nation is re-building; however, I want to see that day when it is our own government that is spending from tax money and trade surpluses. I want to see that day when we no longer rely on foreigners.

Insha Allah Al 'Aziz, that day will come!
