Herat is more tolerant than even Kabul in many respects. But having a large family there, I can tell you as for deslikeness, their attitude towards Iranians and as well as Pakis are pretty much the same. I think in Iranians' case the language might play in abit. KP Pathan like Loopy may feel alien but Quetta Pashtuns are almost native to the region. And no Herat, for us is just like Kandahar.

The kind of foul mouthed responses that you are writing here kind of shows that you would have serious issues when Pakistanis ( even if they are Pashtuns ) do business in Herat.
Just look at this forum any topics about Pakistan are 3,4, pages long others hardly have a few posts. It’s quite obvious that on most topics about Pakistan and the usual suspects turn up to badmouth Pakistan.
What thread starter is saying could very well be the reality.
I know of a Pashtun family that were posted to afghanistan the 60s and 70s when afghan-wannabe rules were making afghan women wear skirts to become more westernized.
Their father was posted in Pakistan's Embassy in Kabul, they all speak perfect Pastho but in school the other afghan children didn’t play with them even in the school bus no one would sit with them, why ? only because of their association with Pakistan even though they spoke better pastho than the 'nationalist' pathans of afghanstan who go around speaking farsi ( and call it dari ).
It just shows that even children are taught hate at homes in afghanistan when it comes to Pakistan.. otherwise how can child know who to play with and who not to so its not surprising at all that this sort of attitute exists when it comes to matters to trade and business also.

That shows the level of hate associated with the name Pakistan!
Our country has been destroyed because of our two neighbors, Iran and Pakistan so thats human nature to hate them.

For Russia I think its the same but I am not sure about NATO or US because people after decades of war, are having a better life but who knows this might change as well.

Indeed, also dont forget that Afghanistan also faced so much during the Mujahiden era as well.

agreed on this first two parts but
have you been to Afghanistan recently?
I think we have at least rebuild 40 percent of the damages done during the Soviet,Pakistanis(Mujaheden)and Pakistanis(Talibs) in this 9 years or so.
We dont need to close our eyes when it comes to US and NATO wrora.
I am living here and before all this our people were dying of hunger all the year round but it has all changed now.
We have a meli ordu, a police(not a good one though) a new currency worth twice as much as Paki currency and 100 times more than Iranian currency!
Our children are going back to school, we have Afghans returned to their country and more which I cant remember at the moment.
All these happened in 10 years or so!
give it another ten years and we once again will be having a more of these good things.
