Book Recommendation Request
Any recommendations on an evidence based book about Ahmad Shah Mossoud? I would prefer a history based on the man's words themselves as opposed to the interpolations by others. My goal is to understand what Abdul Azzam saw in Mr. Mossoud that led him to view Mr. Mossoud as the man that should lead Afghanistan.
I do not want a Saleh style writer or someone who is trying to lionize or eulogize him. A western analyst/scheuer style text would be optimal. I have already seen some, but if any have read some already and view them as very information, that would save me time."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Historical and Political Gazetteer of Afghanistan
Originally written in secret by the British army general staff in India, 1914
Edited by Ludwig W. Adamec.
Published in Graz, Austria by Akademische Druck-u Verlagsanstalt in 1972
ISBN 3201012726
This to me is an invaluable work.
It's composed of 6 volumes, i'm looking specifically for volume 6.
Would be very grateful if anyone managed to find it.---

own inclinations and desires.
