If you go to Delhi, also visit cities like Agra, Aligarh etc.. which are very near by. They have a lot of attractions (mostly historical)

    some pics

^ of course there are many more

Also the food is really great in this part of India

The things to watch for are, it can be dangerous for a woman traveling alone. It is best to go with someone and never travel at night.

Modern Delhi is like any other city in India, crowded and busy. It really depends what you are looking for

I heard a city called gurgaon just north of Delhi is very nice

I don't know about Agra.. I am not much of a raj mahal fan but if I am going all the way there, it won't kill to take a 3 hour long drive to snatch a few picture for my mom who is a great enthusiast.. And I guess I will roam around for a day and two and see how it feels and then if I feel intimidated or unsafe, I will just call for one of my cousins to join me. The flight from Kabul to Delhi is only 2 or 3 hours long.

It would be best if you have a guide there, even some family members or some Indians friends, who can show you around

I grew up in New Delhi. There was a garden there called Lodhi garden. Every Sunday all Afghan community used to have a picnic there. We were lucky to go to India unlike most Afghan who went to Pakistan.

well India has a really high rape rate, in fact a lot of Western wimenz have been raped, so if you're an attractive lightskin girl, you might as well avoid India until the men learn to control their libido for melanin deprived wimenz

i am going with my brother and staying in manali which is apparently a very beautiful place with lots of mountains and colder weather. works for me because i hate crowded places and heat.

decent people don't indulge in tossing around the word rape as often as some of you do. God knows what sort of barns you are brought up in.

My uncle just came back from India a month ago. He originally went there because my sick grandfather from Afghanistan went to delhi for some medical treatment along with a few of other aunts and uncles. Anyways he said, it was hot and sticky and much dirtier compared to Afghanistan but the attractions were worthwhile like the taj mahal in agra and some tombs of Pashtun kings.
