  • From europe to central america

During these annual vacations I had a great trip to Italy, Sswitzerland, France and from there to Cuba, Panama and Dominican Republic. It was a very enriching experience and once again I shouted that travel is knowledge, life is good and world is beautiful.

I was highly impressed by the natural beauty of Switzerland and their rail system. In what an astounding way they have carried their railway to the highest peaks of mountains. I loved Zarmatt, Interlaken, Bern,Lussane, Geneva. Montreux, i speak french but had problems in German speaking areas.

Italy as always is stupendous. I practised again my Italian and felt very confident. Rome, Milan, Vanice and Florence were my main destinations. Remains of Roman empire, the milieu of Vatican city, streets and canals of Venice, buildings of Florence and down town of Milan all very impressive. people are very good. I could find hotels of even 30 euro in all these cities.Italy is that that developed as switzerland.

In France I passed a week in paris and travelled around the suburbs. If one dies and does not see Paris then it will be a meaningless life. This city is gergous in all aspects. History, art, nature, fashion, shopping, food every thing excellent.

FRom Europe I went to Central America and found my Spanish the best. Punta cana in Dominican is a great beach. Santo Domingo has both history and present.

Cuba is all impressive. You can see communism still functioning. Varadero, Santiago, Havana, Holguin all have beautiful beaches. Education and health systems are very good.I was amazed by the idea if capitalism learn from socialism then we can achieve an ideal middle path.

Panama canal is a miracle. Great sensation when I travelled in one hour from Atlantic to Pacific by car.

I did not see many Pashtuns travelling. Indian couples on honey moon was news for me specially in switzerland. I met few Pashtuns but all poor guys without their families for years and just working day and night. I asked few and for some the touring is just waste of time and money. Even the absurd idea of halal food is a hindrance for them to travel around.

Friends here can ask questions an dI can share further details. Others already visited these countries may share their experiences please

    Hey,
how did you manage to communicate with the locals? Any pics?
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

My dream is to see each and every country of the world and I am sure I will do so. Already I have been to more than 30 countries. Previously so many pictures but now I lost interest in my personal pictures everywhere as one can see the pictures by internet of each and every place of the world taken by professional people.

Instead of wasting in pics one should give time to study the culture, submerge in the nature and live the life where one visits in place of a stereo typed tourist having camera all the time . Also I am unable for the time being to share my personal pics on a public internet forum. In real world yes I may share them.

With locals except in the German part of Switzwerland I could easily communicate in Spanish, Italian and French. Where I cannot speak the local language English is always of some help.

in some countires, i just learned from 1-10 and greetings then topped that up with sign language, to get by.
english was often spoken by some, in the 70's but by many these days.
i am the other way round, badlun, never used to take pictures but now i do and have given some to the people i took pictures of, at a small town in india. they loved them.

yeah pictures are useful but I am oversaturated with them and now lost interest. May be again I can revert to my old habit in some future venture or adventure
India I have not seen so far. In Asia I have been only to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, Iran, Egypt, Qatar and soon I will be visiting Saudi for tourism/umra or may be in next Hajj time.

I would love to motivate friends to save money and see the world. You will have wonderful experiences. Each country is so different. Panama and Cuba are very close but totally different in almost all aspects except that both speak Spanish. Cuba is pure communism while panama is pure capitalism. Similarly you will feel a huge difference even in developed countries. Entering by train from Switzerland into Italy will automatically give you a sense of difference. Language , culture, society are always different.
