  • Travelling Waziristan (Advice)

    As salaam alaikum

I hope you are all doing well.

I've always wanted to travel Waziristan since reading about it, but given the current situation I'd like to ask some questions. I have a friend in Razmak that has invited me and offered to take me all around Waziristan.

Are foreigners allowed entry into Waziristan and other tribal areas?

How dangerous is it given that I don't know Urdu or Pashto and I have European appearance?

I'm not Muslim either, but I have knowledge of Islam and great respect for it. Any help would be great in deciding.

    Thank you

pretty safe if you manage to go there. you'll probably be supplied with a personal bodyguard by the government if you were going there. your friend might be lying a bit if he thinks he'll show you round.

          It's not a problem.

The problem is that you're a fan of George Harrison.

waziristan ta wale drume? for your own safety, dont go. moreover, pakistani gov. will not let you go to FATA unless you are a pakistani citizen and even then, with a bodyguard. Nowadays, even Pakistanis aren't allowed in unless theyre Pashtuns from surrounding areas.

he can go but he'd need permission from the government there who won't let him in without guides/bodyguards.

if he's of pak origin he'd be banned from going

i don't know about waziristan, but if its like the dangerous places in afghanistan it probably isn't worth it. there is no joy in traveling if your life is in danger and you have to take a lot of security precautions.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I don't have Pak origin, so I might be able to get permission by the government. But, as of reading, I think God willing, I'd like to see more safe areas of Pakistan first to get some experience and feel of the place, before even considering it. God willing, I hope all the problems will be sorted out in the near future.

Nah don't go there, I go to Pakhtunkhwa like every year or 2 and I don't go to Waziristan , its not a safe area. I will advise you to not go.
