last 2 times, 2006 and 2008, i went to kerala. it is lovely and has the highest education rate. manali in himachal pradesh is one of my favourites. goa might be trashed by tourism now, unfortunately. i was there in 1978. rajasthan is magic. varanasi is special and a must. and many more...list is endless;-) the andamans are beautiful. plane trip from chennai. a lot of muslims there, it seems. nearly all the hotels i stayed in were run by muslims.
I am planning to visit India in the coming year or two, Inshahlah. Mumbai, Goa, Kashmir and Himachal are on my top list. Let's see how the plan goes.
Left me breathless......

nilgiri hills(ooty) and kodai kanal in tamil nadu is really beautiful, coorg in karnataka it's like 6 hours from banglore another 3 hours from mysore ,mysore has historical value, home of tipu sultan.
mysore palace is really beautiful, you can find lot of famous dargahs in banglore and mysore,we have large muslims community in this places, also climate is much cooler compare to other cities in india
i didn't recognise that as munnar. i saw mostly the tea plantations with the mountain backdrops, from the bus trip to marayoor ( about 30ks away and my favourite)

I am very interested in the Northeast, especially Mizoram.
Also, I want to visit Nagaland and Lakshadweep.
If u have pakistan passport nowadays it's very hard to get into india, even someone with pakistani origin living in usa, uk who as never gone to pakistan, especially after David hedley case(26/11mumbai suspect) rules have gone strict, most of the suffering are for the spouses across the border living in aboard.even they have to go huge procedure before getting visa.i heard it's little bit easy on pakistani side to get visa for an indian.
if ur afghan or iranian no problem, banglaore along with pune always had small iranian community from 70s mostly for education,no problem for afghan visiting india, infact there is some free scholarship for afghan students,so visa won't be a problem
i have a canadian and pakistani passport, i could travel to india on my canadian one, infact i plan too soon, i want to travel from north to south.
Btw is hindi spoken everywhere? or would there be some states where they wont understand hindi??
also what should i say if some one asks me about my background?
hmmm
i have no idea about canada, heard pakistani origin with uk passport found it hard, recently there was this australian cricketer with pakistani origin found it little hard for playing champions league,in the end you will get it,but it takes some with lot of background check, heard it easier from pakistani side to get visa compare to india.
about hindi well in south states like tamil nadu and kerala it will be hard, but most of them know english better then hindi, even common autowala in south can atleast understand english
about ur background you can simply pass on as indian muslim from delhi or hyderabad.no one will ask for ur passport
