  • beautiful tropical south asia (kerala, Sri lanka, Maldives)

Northern south asia is known for its alpine cold climate (Himalyas, karakorom and Hindu kush) mountain ranges, but southern south asia is known for its tropical beauty

Here are pics of Sri lanka, Maldives and Kerala(south india)

I went to Sri Lanka and Maldives long ago, very beautiful places:

karachi, my favourite is kerala. lovely state. sri lanka is beautiful and andamans is great. i would love to go to the maldives but it is expensive, no? the water there looks pristine and the underwater world must be in good condition.
laila, you'd better not go to these places if people in bathers is an issue for you, lol.

it is if you stay in one of those resorts, but what we did was stay in (male) the capital in a hotel then go visit these islands outside the city for the whole day, really amazing! You can swim in the blue water, its feels so clean

the andamans are not developed in the same way as the maldives and it is still really inexpensive to stay there. same prices as india but they are losing their reefs. the reefs are bleaching, possibly due to high water temperatures.
i was lucky to go there in 2008 before the damage was done and had a great time snorkelling. fortunately i did not know about crocodile attacks, at the time, lol.

apparently the maldivian government having been saving to buy land for their people. australia and india are 2 of the destinations they have in mind.
another really great spot for diving and snorkelling is palau sipidan off the coast of sabah, borneo. this is the best underwater experience i have had. the underwater was as clear as above water. the reef was pristine and had been fully protected for about 20 years. sabah itself is fantastic, the food, the people and the diversity of the environment.
