  • Pashtun physique/build

The physical characteristics such as height, build , complexion varies among the Pashtuns based on tribe and the area they inhabit. In this thread, I am seeking feedback from my fellow Pashtuns regarding the physique and build.
Basically, in your opinion , which tribe/ area people(among Pashtuns of course ) have broad and heavy built physiques?(regardless of height)

As far as my observation goes , the Pashtuns of Northern Balochistan comprising Quetta,Zhob ,Chaman etc tend to be quite heavy in physique.

Also, I heard a Pakistani Pashtun remark that Afghans tend to be more heavily built than Pakistani Pashtuns, is there any truth to this?

Note: As mentioned above also, in this thread we are only discussing the body structure and not height.

I'm Punjabi but my father once told me that the real Pathans are the ones that live on Pak Afghan border. They are supposed to be the strongest/toughest guys.

Go down to the "Pashtun" section. It might be an old source, but you can adjust it for what the figures might be today.

Hey that is no way to behave with anyone. If you have nothing better to say, then don't pollute my thread with such bs.
Secondly, please do not reply to this post unless you want to say anything which is related to the original topic of this thread.Thanks.

While it is true that the ones living on the border are the most aggressive ones, but here we are talking about physical structure which is unrelated to that.
So for example, the Marwat is a Pashtun tribe in Southern KP. They usually have very good physiques but as a whole, they are a very peaceful tribe and have been so in history as well.
On the other hand, the Wazir tribe which inhabits the Waziristan region is renowned for their courage and warrior qualities. But most of the men from that tribe that I have seen, are thin and not of very good phsyique.

It says that average Pashtun height is around 170cm. However, this is an old study, so the average Pashtun height nowadays is probably higher.

lol at generalizing a whole ethnic group. there are big, tall, strong Pashtuns, just as there are small, weak Pashtuns. same applies for every race/ethnicity.

Thats where you're wrong.Of course I am not generalizing the whole ethnic group.Yes , I am generalizing certain tribes with regard to their physique, which I feel makes sense. There is no doubt in the fact that certain tribes have certain physical characteristics which apply to majority of its people.

I am sure the average height of Pashtun men is higher nowadays, probably around 5'8(173 cm).
Anyway, as mentioned in the first post, this thread is not about height ratehr the bone and body structure.
