  • Pak-Afghan traditional Pashtun wrestling competition

CHAMAN: A traditional wrestling competition was arranged in remembrance of the iconic Pashtun nationalist leader Khan Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai in the border town of Chaman, which borders Afghanistan.

More than 150 wrestlers from Afghanistan participated in the event, with most of them hailing from the Afghan province of Kandahar.

It was the first time that Afghan wrestlers had come to Pakistan to participate in the wrestling competition.

Spectators from Pakistan and Afghanistan were part of the audience, and had come from far-flung areas to spectate the wrestling competition.

The chief guest was Provincial Minster Balochistan Planning and Development Hameed Khan Achakzai, son of the Pashtun nationalist leader Khan Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai.

Really hope these are promoted among our people like the Indians are doing with Kabaddi and others with their own version of wrestling.
