As regards to Afridi, the player. He's just average. His stats speak for itself. If it were not for the vagaries of Pakistani Cricket he wouldnt have been around for so long. To get out like that in a Test match and then saying you dont belong to Test cricket is a slap on the face of Pakistani cricket. He took the easy way out. Instead of apologizing and working hard on his game, he decides to throw in the towel.

It will be a sad day, if that happens.

T20 is the dessert while Tests are the main course. Maybe I am a purist but show me a raw and brutal Dhoni T20 six down long on and I would show you a Sachin's beautifully carved coverdrive. Show me a Malinga toe-breaking yorker and I will show you a late out-swinging Asif delivery. Test cricket is the real contest my friend. A real contest between bat and ball. T20 is for new converts and Test is for the real connoisseurs.

You know Saif, I detest this IPL created by the BCCI. They are reducing cricket to just a commercial venture. The bad effects of IPL on the Indian teams of the future will be quite evident. No youngster will be willing to work on his game. An upcoming batsman todays realizes that he only needs to play the big shots and clear the field to be selected by some IPL team and his future will be secured. Why would he spend time working on his technique? Why would he work on his footwork? The same goes for the bowlers. They just need to bowl the yorkers and the bouncers and they will be offered a contract by an IPL team. They dont need to work on their action. They dont need to bring the ball in or curve it out. The "art" in cricket will die out soon, if T20 continues to rule the roost.

Tendulkar is not a legend . Legendary players are like shahid afridi .

Tendulkar always played slowly like ladies and if you played cricket you would know how easy it is to play like that.

Respect the legend , He scored more 6's than any other batsman on earth.
You cant compare any other batsman to him.
Thats how he earned the title of Boom boom AFRIDI on indian ground

Generally cricket is a boring game. It needs some boom boom players otherwise it will not get along with the mood of masses. Its good that creativity allowed and ultimately it will turn fastest once these so called dull legends make their way out.

Look sports is a skill.....if people find it entertaining or not doesn't make a difference....cricket can never even in its wildest dreams become as popular as football....no matter how much boom boom is in it...

Darts will never, pool or snooker will never and so many other sports...does that mean we remove the skill aspect of these kinda sports and make it more entertaining....

I wanna see cricket not wwf wrestling (younis khan called t20 like wwf)....

If you dont understand cricket, u gonna find it boring...i know people who find football boring, so is football gonna change to make them happy????

Afridi is not a legend, cricket is about winning games, scoring run and taking wickets.....you have 5 days to play cricket in a test match it seems afridi was in a hurry for his meal thats why he couldnt stand the wait....like when he ate the cricket ball

                      Afridi is a legend.

                      Gave you enough reasons.
There is no replacement for him and you cant compare a single batsman with him.

Because AFRIDI IS THE KING OF CRICKET.

Calling Shahid Afridi a legend would be an embarrassment to all the real legends of cricket.

Is cricket all about hitting the highest number of sixes? What about consistency? What about taking your team to victory, again and again and again?

I enjoy watching Afridi. He certainly does liven things up. And he's talented when it comes to clearing the rope. But thats about it. Throw him in seaming conditions against a good pace attack and he's all at sea. Have you seen his footwork? Dont blame you. He has NONE. Clearing your front leg out to hoist a good-length ball over long on is not called footwork.

Just click on the following links and check out Sachin and Afridi's stats. You would understand the definition of a legend!
                        Sachin:http://www.cricinfo.com/india/content/player/35320.html
                        Afridi: http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/42639.html

Everyone has his own perception, some may have conservative views and some may have creative thinking to move along the trend... Your legend cant be mine and mine cant be yours. So better pron to explosive changes rather than to confine this game to jobless people or retired people of UK whose prime purpose going to enjoy nude sunbathing and drinking of beers.

True, you are entitled to your opinion and your definitions of legend and greatness.

But when you make general statements like the one above, people are bound to counter you, arent they?
