Again lack of sensibleness from the Afghan batsmen just like Pakistan's Shahid Afridi. The way they played Pakistan's spinners once they took the charge that was impressive. I mean not even highly ranked team like South Africa and India can manage to play Pak's spinners the way Afghans were hitting them as a result of which Afridi didn't come back to bowl after two overs. Even at the end of it the bowler got confused. I am sure if he would have bowled a Yorker Afridi would have not been able to play it for a single. For a T20 fast bowler to be successful I don't think he needs a coach he just need to watch Umer Gul's bowling videos with full concentration. Alot of potential. All the best for the future.

PS: One more thing would be a good talent hunt programme by the Afghan Authorities as far as the circket is concerned. I watched Khyber Green Fata's team last year in Karachi they went to the finals even. So is the discovery of that new bowler in Fata. So they need to hunt such players in the Pakhtun Majority areas of Pakistan give them nationality and this can act as a catalyst for a world class Afghan Cricket Team.

Afghan batting was okay. I think their players were full of adrenalin and perhaps, not making the best calls. But still, their batting technique doesn't seem to be such a big issue.

I think the problem was the bowling. It will take a little time, but I think after Afghans start developing bowling techniques, their team over all will be pretty strong.Daulat guy was really disappointing.

Also, some of their fielding was not good.

It will just take some practice and more experience, but the Afghans can be a cricket power-house.

More than anything else, I enjoyed watching the crowd having a good time. People were laughing, celebrating, chanting. It seemed like the stadium atmosphere was a lot of fun.

T-20 is getting so popular now, I heard the Saudis are now preparing a T-20 team. lol

Afghanistan played well, but I'm not sure if they're that good outside Sharjah

I do think that Afghanistan has more potential than Bangladesh, perhaps because of their physique and natural aggression.

It was a good match, but Afghanistan needs to concentrate on longer format of the game. That is where their real cricketing skills will be developed, T20 although ridiculously popular still is only a slog fest. Also that last over was bad, they need to work on handling mental pressure. It was a good game based on the highlights that I watched.

Goodluck to them in the worldcup

Afghanistan had the game sealed, had the skipper of Pakistan not had been lucky with that 4 runs slip up the wicket keeper he had.

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

They fought well but I would suggest that they concentrate on the longer formats of the game to improve their T20 performance.

In T20 you can slog yourself to 120 - 140 and thats ok but in longer formats that strategy will never get you anywhere near the finish line. That is why they are struggling right now in their final against Ireland for the intercontinental cup.

Also I was a bit confused by the way they sent in the players, guys like shenwari & nabi should play at the top. Nawroz should be dropped and shahzad as well, that guy has no shots.

I agree; that's what happens when you have an entire team full of Shahid Afridis.

They will only get better with time, they have a series coming up against Zimbabwe they should look to beat a full status member nation.

Dawlat zadran seems to be an excellent prospect.

No, I meant Zimbabwe has the same status as Pakistan, i.e full member status?
