Afghanistan v Kenya, WCL Championship, Sharjah Report : Afghanistan secure World Cup berth | Cricket News | ESPN Cricinfo

    Congrats to the Afghans

should be the news of the month for the Afghan

Afghanistan secured their passage to Australia and New Zealand in 2015 by beating Kenya comprehensively for the second time in succession in Sharjah, sealing their maiden World Cup qualification. They finished second in the World Cricket League Championship - nine wins in 14 matches - and joined Ireland as the second Associate team in the 2015 World Cup, while the remaining two spots for Associates will be decided by a qualifying tournament in New Zealand in 2014.

        Congrats!!!
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

No newbie cricket team has so much talent, potential and future as Afghanistan. They have also proved themeselves in football. Due to good physique and stamina, i am sure they can be good in many other games.
The thing about cricket is that experience counts more than any thing, senior players are assets and they are irreplacable. With time Afghanistan's batting side would improve, patience is needed.

Afghanistan is more than "yet another muslim country". We also have have ethnic, linguistic, cultural and historical connection with afghanistan.
