      Afghanistan 1-0 Pakistan at half-time.

Because of my crappy internet connection I missed most of the first half (including the goal) but from what I had seen, Afghanistan was clearly the stronger team.

            Final Score: Afghanistan 3-0 Pakistan

Seeing the Afghan players running & waving their flags at the end was a great sight indeed.
            A well-deserved win.

You only need to look at the number of shots to see who dominated the game (I think it was 14 for Afghanistan and only 2 for Pakistan). We also dominated ball possesion throughout. Not only that, the technical skills of the Afghans were visibly superior.

Afghanistan is undeniably the best team in South Asia. The next SAFF championships will prove that.

Well done to Afghanistan, commiserations to Pakistan.

Pakistan's team are like part time amateurs, no ball jockeying, no 1-2 passes, no threatening through balls, no creativity and the communication on the pitch was clearly dismal.

                        Friendship Match

Afghanistan hosted its first international soccer match in 10 years with the national team beating Pakistan 3-0 in a historic match in Kabul stadium in front of 6000 people. Labeled the “Friendship Match”, it was the first between the two countries in 36 years. This victory is also an indicator of the progress made in the past decade. Twelve years ago Kabul stadium was synonymous with public executions but today thousands of Afghans, men and women, celebrated the victory of their national football team. We congratulate the Afghan national team on this victory and wish them much success as they will be playing next for the South Asian Football Federation Gold Cup in Nepal.

Labeled the “Friendship Match”, can sports make a contribution toward peace building efforts?

No majority of them are actually Pashtuns just like the cricket team.

We taught the Afghans cricket, I hope they will return the favor, and teach our team football.

Congratulations to Afghan team, and Afghan people.
