  • No Pakistan players in BPL

Khulna Royal Bengals will have to go without the services of Ahmed Shehzad, one of their seven Pakistan players © BPL T20
The second edition of the Bangladesh Premier League will be go ahead without any Pakistan player participating, a fallout of the BCB cancelling a proposed tour of Pakistan twice. The PCB has refused to issue No Objection Certificates (NOC) to any of its players who were picked by the seven franchises in the Twenty20 league which starts on Friday.
"PCB's Subhan Ahmed has told BCB that no Pakistan players will be given NOCs," Jalal Yunus, the BCB spokesman, said in Dhaka.
The BCB had decided to will wait till 10am (0400 GMT) today for the PCB to give NOCs, required to be issued by a player's home board to enable him to take part in overseas leagues. "We will wait till 10am and if the PCB doesn't reply, the tournament will go on as per schedule without the Pakistani players," BPL chairman Afzalur Rahman Sinha had said on Tuesday. "We won't bow down to any demand and have decided to carry on. We have already informed that to the franchises and asked them to arrange similar-quality players to replace them."
The negotiations between the two boards reached a tipping point after the PCB continued to seek a confirmation from the BCB regarding a tour to Pakistan. The BCB has played a waiting game after cancelling a trip for the second time on December 31. After BCB president Nazmul Hassan met his Pakistani counterpart Zaka Ashraf on January 6, the BCB decided to send a second security team but that too has not gone down well in Pakistan.
The seven franchises have been told to seek replacements from among the players who were unsold in the auction, or else find players from outside the list. With two days left before the tournament begins, it is unlikely that the franchises will be able to find enough players to replace the Pakistan cricketers, so popular in Bangladesh. Khulna Royal Bengals is the franchise most hit, as they had bought the services of Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Awais Zia, Umar Amin, Ahmed Shehzad, Haris Sohail and Bilawal Bhatti.
Bismillah, alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah and may Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad and protect our nation from any harm.

Shehbaza, this revenge nonsense is complete stupidity. What will happen? Pakistani players will lose MONEY, I'm sure Umar Gul is very frustrated. I understand why Pakistan is frustrated, but they should've realized that we can at least make them cough up some money for our players.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Both BD and Pakistan have fallen into a trap set by the Indians who do not want these two to come closer through any activity. It has been India's policy always to keep BD away from the Ummah.

BPL should be inviting Afghan players as well.

Admin Khana, I agree I agree. The players without doubt will loose money. But did you see their contradictory statements after Asia Cup? I don't know anything about the frustration of Umer Gul though. I've just heard Imran Nazir's point of view about it and yes he was frustrated over this issue.

              Shehbaz,

I agree with you, and concur that BCB is definitely playing childish games. It's not like Bangladesh is New York or something, it's the same environment. My concern is the lost of revenue for those cricket players. PCB should've realized we can at least suck some money out of them for our players, and take revenge in a different form. I remember back in 2002, and previously, BD's cricket team was a joke, and pretty bad. Now that the quality has increased, they should not forget their roots. The Pakistani approach is just WRONG. Keep pride out of it, Umar Gul needs to make a living.

well i hope they can make the payments this time around, there are domestic players that havent been paid yet from last years edition. In either case it is sad for the game, petty egos shouldnt be allowed to get in the way of honest people looking to earn some money.

Even now if you remove the last Asia Cup they have no good performances on their card. And yes it was Wasim Akram who allowed them to come to the Cricketing world by a fixing a Cricket Match with them.

We should forget about this and concentrate on PSL, I have heard that PCB got an overwhelming response from the broadcasters and people like Shahid Khan (billionaire NFL team owner) these are the kind of investors that could really turn it into something else for us.

I wish bangalis a happy tournament, the sport brings them great joy and although they are being a bit over the top arrogant I hope they can unearth some decent players

I think its because their other players are so bad that he ends up taking all the wickets and making all the runs thus the stats. He had trouble getting into even the KKR XI
