  • Sri Lanka bowl first under overcast skies

Sri Lanka's captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and sent Australia in to bat in the second ODI under overcast skies at Adelaide Oval.
Australia made three changes to the team victorious in the series opener, dropping Usman Khawaja for Steve Smith while Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson were ruled out of the bowling attack, their places taken by the debutantes Ben Cutting and Kane Richardson.
Cutting was presented his Australia ODI cap by Greg Chappell, while Rod Marsh handed the cap to the 21-year-old Richardson, who has made a rapid rise to debut after at first being called into the squad when it emerged that Starc had been waylaid by a calf strain. Johnson was not chosen after complaining of soreness in his side following the MCG match.
Sri Lanka were forced to leave out Dinesh Chandimal due to the hamstring strain he picked up at the MCG, meaning a debut for the young wicketkeeper Kushal Perera.
The toss was delayed by a little less than 40 minutes due to heavy morning rain in Adelaide that left parts of the outfield soggy, but the full quota of overs will still be bowled.
Australia 1 Phillip Hughes, 2 Aaron Finch, 3 George Bailey (capt), 4 David Hussey, 5 Steve Smith, 6 Glenn Maxwell, 7 Brad Haddin (wk), 8 Ben Cutting, 9 Kane Richardson, 10 Clint McKay, 11 Xavier Doherty.
Sri Lanka 1 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 2 Upul Tharanga, 3 Mahela Jayawardene (capt), 4 Lahiru Thirimanne, 5 Angelo Mathews, 6 Kushal Perera (wk), 7 Jeevan Mendis, 8 Thisara Perera, 9 Nuwan Kulasekara, 10 Lasith Malinga, 11 Ajantha Mendis.
Bismillah, alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah and may Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad and protect our nation from any harm.
