West Indies captain Darren Sammy won the toss and chose to bat first against Australia in the World Twenty20 semi-final at Premadasa Stadium.
In the match to decide who will meet the hosts Sri Lanka in Sunday's final, the West Indies brought in allrounder Dwayne Bravo for his brother Darren, though he is not able to bowl following a groin injury.
Australia also made one change, recalling David Hussey for his first match of the tournament at the expense of his fellow Victorian Glenn Maxwell. Hussey's greater experience may be an asset in a knockout match.
Colombo's has been hot and sunny, while the pitch is dry and expected to increase its degree of turn the further the game goes on.
Australia 1 David Warner, 2 Shane Watson, 3 Michael Hussey, 4 George Bailey (capt), 5 Cameron White, 6 David Hussey, 7 Matthew Wade (wk), 8 Pat Cummins, 9 Mitchell Starc, 10 Brad Hogg, 11 Xavier Doherty
West Indies 1 Johnson Charles, 2 Chris Gayle, 3 Marlon Samuels, 4 Dwayne Bravo, 5 Kieron Pollard, 6 Andre Russell, 7 Denesh Ramdin (wk), 8 Darren Sammy (capt), 9 Sunil Narine, 10 Samuel Badree, 11 Ravi Rampaul.
Bismillah, alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah and may Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad and protect our nation from any harm.
