  • Gayle and Best return, England bowl first

Chris Gayle makes his much-awaited return to West Indies colours at The Oval after being passed fit following scans on the leg injury which kept him out of the opening game of the series. The visitors face a must-win scenario to keep the series alive and have also drafted in Tino Best to bolster the pace attack.
Gayle replaces Darren Bravo who has flown home with a groin injury while Best comes in for Andre Russell who injured his shoulder in the first ODI but may have been dropped anyway after an expensive performance with the ball. West Indies' seam attack was one-paced at West End so Best's inclusion should add a cutting edge although economy has never been his major strength.
England are unchanged following the 114-run victory on Saturday but this match will be overshadowed by the death yesterday of the Surrey batsman Tom Maynard. England will wear black armbands and a minute's silence was held before play started. Jade Dernbach, Maynard's Surrey team-mate, has been released from the England squads on compassionate grounds.
England 1 Alastair Cook (capt), 2 Ian Bell, 3 Jonathan Trott, 4 Ravi Bopara, 5 Eoin Morgan, 6 Craig Kieswetter, 7 Tim Bresnan, 8 Stuart Broad, 9 Graeme Swann, 10 James Anderson, 11 Steven Finn
West Indies 1 Chris Gayle, 2 Lendl Simmons, 3 Marlon Samuels, 4 Dwayne Smith, 5 Dwayne Bravo, 6 Kieran Pollard, 7 Denesh Ramdin (wk), 8 Darren Sammy (capt), 9 Tino Best, 10 Ravi Rampaul, 11 Sunil Narine
Bismillah, alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah and may Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad and protect our nation from any harm.
