  • Younis and Ajmal left out, Pakistan bat

Pakistan chose to bat in conditions in which Misbah-ul-Haq, their captain, believed a score of around 250 would be quite competitive, as it proved in the previous ODI. Misbah said Younis Khan had been "rested due to his form" - he had scores of 5, 4 and 1 in this series. Imran Farhat took his place in the line-up. A surprise move was Pakistan's decision to "rest" Saeed Ajmal, their best bowler. They went in with an additional pace option, picking Mohammad Sami who has recovered from a thumb injury.
Sri Lanka made one "tactical" change, leaving out left-arm spinner Sajeewa Weerakoon and picking the legspinning allrounder Jeevan Mendis in his place.
Pakistan: 1 Mohammad Hafeez, 2 Azhar Ali, 3 Asad Shafiq, 4 Imran Farhat, 5 Misbah-ul-Haq (capt), 6 Umar Akmal, 7 Shahid Afridi, 8 Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), 9 Umar Gul, 10 Sohail Tanvir, 11 Mohammad Sami.
Sri Lanka: 1 Tillakaratne Dilshan, 2 Upul Tharanga, 3 Mahela Jayawardene (capt), 4 Dinesh Chandimal, 5 Kumar Sangakkara (wk), 6 Lahiru Thirimanne, 7 Angelo Mathews, 8 Thisara Perera, 9 Jeevan Mendis, 10 Nuwan Kulasekara, 11 Lasith Malinga.
Bismillah, alhamdulillah, all praises due to Allah and may Allah increase the honor of Prophet Muhammad and protect our nation from any harm.
