Dashing Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi might be named as the captain for the men in green’s ODI and T20 squad. PCB might cash on the charismatic all-rounder again to lead the green army for the limited-overs format.

Previously, Shahid Afridi was Pakistan’s limited-overs captain while Misbah-ul-Haq was the Test captain. But after an ugly tussle with the former coach Waqar Younis and Pakistan cricket board chief Ijaz Butt, Afridi temporarily retired from international cricket.
He returned to international cricket again when the tenure of Butt was finished. But he was not reinstated as captain. He played under the captaincy of Misbah-ul-Haq.
As a captain of Pakistan’s limited-overs side, Afridi successfully led Pakistan to reach the semifinal of last year’s ICC World Cup where his team was beaten by India at Mohali. Despite the horrors of spot-fixing in 2010, Afridi gelled together a tattered Pakistan unit well to bring them back on winning track in the post spot-fixing era.
As a captain Shahid Afridi has led Pakistan in 34 ODIs and has won 18 of them while he has led in 18 T20s and has won 8 of them. He has also led in one Test with a defeat after which he re-retired from Test cricket.
