It was changes galore in Bangalore as the hosts, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Deccan Chargers altered the make-up of their teams significantly for the 50th game of the IPL this season. Daniel Vettori, the Royal Challengers captain, left himself out of the side in favour of an attacking spin option in Muttiah Muralitharan; Virat Kohli led the team. Andrew McDonald made way for opener Tillakaratne Dilshan, J Syed Mohammad replaced an ill Saurabh Tiwary. KP Appanna and R Vinay Kumar also missed out, prompting call-ups for Abhimanyu Mithun and Royal Challengers' latest recruit, seamer Prasanth Parameswaran.
Chargers left out allrounder Daniel Christian for opener Daniel Harris. Abhishek Jhunjhunwala and Ankit Sharma also had to sit in the dug-out, Akshath Reddy and Anand Rajan took their places.
