  • Calling all pool players

So I'm thinking of getting a 4x8 snooker table for the basement, I saw this one it was really well priced but its non-slate..I've never played on non-slate ones so i don't know what they are like, any know-it-alls here ?

    I generally don't like the non-slate ones.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Good job pool tables are wicked to have. do you have many brothers? cuz it can be quite fun.

We used to have a snooker table in our house for years, finally woke up and decided to get rid of it and believe me it was a nightmare, the lead inside is really heavy .. saying that though, pool tables are going to be significantly smaller so you might be alright.

^ They are man, I'm so addicted to the game..and yeah i have two brothers so it would be a good pass time..but its nuts to put it together, i mean the slabs themselves are insanely heavy on slate ones thats why i was considering a non-slate model

but you have felt on top, right?
in america the pool cues were like telegraph poles, they were so thick compared to the ones in australia. my neighbour revealed this morning, that he has a pool table tucked away in the shed. he is going to get it out whilst his nephews are here as it is heavy and needs a lot of hands to shift it. i love the game.
