Salamoona everyone, hope u all doing good. There's something I'm going along with for a very long time now, just last week one of my colleagues asked me whether I was suffering from some disorder and was actually serious about it. The thing is that it doesn't matter how clean I am, most days I take a shower twice a day, yet I don't feel like I'm clean enough. There was a timw I used to feel calm again after praying but even that doesn't help. Lately when I go outside and take a look at my hands, I keep imagining that my hands 're black?? I wash my hand a million times, yet I hide my hands by pulling my shirt forward. Now, what could this mean? I don't feel like this is a problem I can discuss with doctor or anyone else, has anyone else been through the same or know anything about it?

The problem is not in your hands, or your skin. Its in your thoughts. You have not reconciled with something that has happened. It belittles you and the anxiety produced by revisiting these inconsolable images from memories are diverted to washing off, may be you are trying to wash off something unconciously. In any case you have a "OCD" or obsessive compulsive disorder. I suspect a touch of generalized anxiety, occasional panic attacks and an abusive tormented past as well. Hopefully you can see a therapist or if none is available, just forgive yourself, whats in the past let it dissolve in the past, wake up one morning, wash off, but in your mind dont wash your body, wash your past, day be day, year by year, do that for a week and then see how it goes.Originally posted by Mina View PostSalamoona everyone, hope u all doing good. i really dont think any of us should try and analyze what type of disorder he has as we are not qualified and may just be wrong information.

Umm......Mina i can you have an obsessive compulsive Disorder (OCD)........however depending on where you live it can be diagnosed as something different. From the symptoms that your describing it sounds like OCD. Its like when you have to keep doing something.......and repeating it.........

I agree with Baygham.I also suspect OCD from the signs you have mentioned.Besides following his therapy, you should also seek a psychiatrist as well which would be the real solution.OCD is treatable with behavior therapy and medications.Mental health is more important than physical health, therefore, you should not delay anymore.
Good luck! =)"O Pakhtuns!, Your house has fallen into ruin, let us rebuild it".

mina to be honest no one can diagnose it iv suffered from it for years i wash clean everthing mobile lap top, door nobs ,walls ,flooring everthing gets washed my clothes get washed every day ,you can only stop it your self by trying to keep your self busy with something and learning to accept things iv been to councillors nothing helped iv managed to control it prayer for your self purity is half the faith so being clean isnt bad but when you start thinking your not clean you need to see dirty places you will appreciate your self more it helped me .

when she goes to her GP and describes her symptoms then they will refer her to a counsellor/therapist who will probably give her cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)..........as that is meant to help combat faulty thinking......
@mina........you should send a PM to Dreamer......as he is a Qualified Doctor

but its when it interferes with your day to day living that it becomes a problem.........its like when your going out the house and you have to check through all the doors like 3 times. Its like an urge that you have to do something a set number of times..........OCD is common......even David Beckham has it.Originally posted by kakargirl View Postmina to be honest no one can diagnose it iv suffered from it for years i wash clean everthing mobile lap top, door nobs ,walls ,flooring everthing gets washed my clothes get washed every day ,you can only stop it your self by trying to keep your self busy with something and learning to accept things iv been to councillors nothing helped iv managed to control it prayer for your self purity is half the faith so being clean isnt bad but when you start thinking your not clean you need to see dirty places you will appreciate your self more it helped me .
