I have heard from my urdu teacher that laila, beloved of majnoon was negro. She was not beautiful at all and was dark like night. But majnoon (word majnoon means mad, pagal) did'nt care and was in deep love with her. He even got stoned for sake of african lady.

Who cares what skin color Laila was?

Who cares what skin color Majnoon was?

Who decided that dark skin color is "ugly"? What's so ugly about it? And why should I agree with anyone that light skin is more beautiful than dark skin?

And what's wrong with being African? What's wrong with people from Africa? Why should Laila NOT have been loved by her Majnoon just because she was African? What's more special about non-Africans? (This is in response to Luffy's shallow comment about "Majnoon got stoned for the sake of an African lady"! What would have been different if he'd gotten stoned over a Pukhtun lady, for instance? Gosh, Luffy.)

I don' believe love is blind because if love was blind, no one would ever love anyone else. We love people whom we find beautiful in our own way, and just because over half of the world is too blind and too narrow-minded and way too ersatz to see that beauty is more than "white looks," doesn't mean anything whatsoever.

Besides, no one ever says "love is blind" when a man/woman is in love with a light-skinned individual. Love becomes blind ONLY when someone's in love with or wants to marry a dark-skinned individual. It's such a pity that there still exist people in the 21st century who think that something's wrong with being Africans, that Africans are darker and therefore not worthy of being loved!
