well the reasons might be the wars and conflicts in this region, which left persians with no other choice but to seek refuge in afghanistan(as per my knowlegde).but today persians in afganistan are in power and they are representing a bad and liberal image of afghanistan.as pushtuns there are supressed and they have no one to represent them.all the traditions and values of pashtuns are destroyed by these so called persian pushtuns. The only thing they represent is the influence of western culture upon their life style.when afghanis feel themselves close to these pushtuns mxed with persians.then thats where the pushtun race mixes with that of persians.it really make me to think that how they claim to be a pure pushtun race if genetic drift already exists there?Originally posted by Fahd View Postthat's not right

^ Some genuine questions.
Isn't Pakistan afloat precisely because of the USA?
Is Pakistan strong enough (internally) to not start to unravel if the US withdraw aid?
Would the internal separatist movements attempt to gain more influence if there was no US backing and the centre was weaker?
No jazbaatee responses SofM. I'm just a person with questions.

by this statment you mean,if persians mixed with pushtun are 45% then percent population of pushtuns is 55%.Originally posted by Fahd View Posti can tell u we aren't mixed in afg

here are some facts that i wanna let you know
Persian-speakers of Afghanistan make up about 50% of the population in the country, where Persian language is one of the official languages besides the other which is Pashto. The Persian language is the most widely used language of the country, spoken by around 80% of the population, while Pashto is spoken and understood by around 35% of the population, mostly native Pashtu-speaker.
well if most of the popuation there is pushtun then why they speak persian?Originally posted by Fahd View Postbut what about pashtun in pakistan ???

i have also heard that dari is one of the dialect of persian...
plus if persian speakers are in such a great strength...then how they are not mixed with persians yet...and yeah pukhtunkhwa right now is a part of pakistan so the influence will be more but still we try to stay away from getting mixed with panjabis atleast i do try...while afghanistan is not the part of iran then why we see too much influence of persians in afghanistan?

Nice Avatar Gulmeena, but when you make McDonalds out of Che Guevara, I think you've missed the point.
So how do you want Afghanistan represented? As fossilized cave people who cannot adapt to a changing world.Originally posted by gulmeena View Posttoday persians in afganistan are in power and they are representing a bad and liberal image of afghanistan
What exactly is the fear here?
Well, the opposite of your liberals would be hardline Talibs and militants. You'd prefer to be known as a cut-throat? Then again, did you miss the point about Karzai, flawed, though he may be, as being a Pashtoon president? Maybe there is a disconnect, but then your comments miss this key point too.Originally posted by gulmeena View Postpushtuns there are supressed and they have no one to represent them
Hmm. So all things western are bad? All things in balance Gulmeena. You are using English. That is a western language.Originally posted by gulmeena View Postall the traditions and values of pashtuns are destroyed by these so called persian pushtuns. The only thing they represent is the influence of western culture upon their life style
No-one truly has the monopoly on who is/isn't Pashtoon. There are ultimately some cultural and linguistic boundaries, but seriously, that's the least important issue.Originally posted by gulmeena View Postwhen afghanis feel themselves close to these pushtuns mxed with persians.then thats where the pushtun race mixes with that of persians.it really make me to think that how they claim to be a pure pushtun race if genetic drift already exists there?
BTW the demonym you use is wrong in fact.
These are Afghanis:
