  • The gems of our societies

Alright enough chest thumping over our 'glorious' past, what Muslims did and used to be..Let's take pride in what our people are doing today..How despite all our misery there are still people among us who rise above all and serve as a beacon of hope for our generation

So just like that random thoughts thread post about any important personality that you recently heard or read about that have done something extraordinary..you know like scientists, enterpreuners, businessmen but NO POLITICIANS

Politicians ,if genuine ,are the only hope for a hopeless nation. They guide a nation in times when everyone is either disgusted, demoralised or have no vision or aim to persue. It is a good politician who gives gives fresh air to the suffocated society lacking freedom. A generation which is born in autocratic rule or is a product of cold war would never like political process to continue and would always idolise and idealise their military.

Through various means and mediums she has been fighting and bringing to attention the unseen images and unheard voices of the disadvantaged groups of Pakistan, especially women.

Samar has been documenting the Vanni and Swara traditions in Pakistan through her registered NGO (Non Government Organization) called Ethnomedia. She makes documentaries on social and cultural issues and is on the board of PEMRA.(Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority). My cousin-in-law gave up her career to open a craft school for poor woman of Kabul. She sold all of her bridal jewlery to pay for the building and costs for materials. Her school teaches unfortunate woman to make clothes. So not only are they students in crafting....but they get paid monthly too. It gives the unfortunate woman of Kabul hopes of living each morning, knowing that they are learning something new each day, and being able to bring some money to feed their children.
