Practically, as a geopolitical entity, Ottoman Empire had fallen in 1918 though Kamal Ataturk played for a while with the idea of Khalafat. In the end, he was convinced spiritual and secular powers cannot go togethor in a modern state...

for Afghans khilafat ended long time ago. Turks never helped us when the British attacked us.

Turks didn't help anybody but themselves.

Most of their territory was opressed just as much other territories controlled by French and European colonialists.

My Wahabi friend that is why we are telling you Islam is nothing but a tool for Arabs and other influential Muslim nations to advance their imperial agenda with and to colonize other weaker Muslim nations....It is so unfortunate your mind cannot grasp that.

you might consider it as a tool, but it is our religion.

And whats really funny is that you go and send admin messages weeping and squealing like a raped duck because I called you a kaafir. And now you are saying islam is a tool for arab domination.

                I side with Toramana.

I am a Muslim but Arabs have abused Islam and fooled us with the Islam card, especially Wahabis.

Keep this in mind. There will never be a time when Afghanistan will be secular.

There will always be Islam in Afghanistan due to the fact that the Pashtuns of the heartland are conservative and keep to Islam very tightly.

This dream of secular Afghanis is just that - a dream- and it is a dream that will come to nothing. Afghanistan and Islam will never separate, and I am happy to know that.
You are prophesying like a prophet...Do you have some hotline connection with the supernatural...look and behold ...when it(Pakhtun society) is transformed by technology, there wouldn't be a place for orthodoxy...

By the way the Pashtun way is intrinsically secular...that is why Mullahs have always played secind fiddle (rather lowest) to tribal elders. Only change is permanent...Apart from that there is no constacy....Your dream of Pakhtun land turned into a Wahabi fiefdom would never come true.

Secularism doesn't mean religiousless society...It means separation of religion from the affairs of state...that is why in traditional Pashtun societry, Mullahs ran the mosque and Pashtun elders the rest of the society.

what right, what religion, what image, what institute is not abused and misused beyond the limit in today's society?
why so insecure? and what else are you willing to let go of because of this unnecessary paranoia? instead of making a system you claim not having any control over, why don't you make your self immune to it? don't you see the irony? you are using the fact that religion might be misused as an excuse to ignore your own religions obligations. how do you explain that?

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

Miss Da Zahro Jam (Bowl of Poison), there is a problem with religion i.e,. its absoluteness and definiteness, which is against rationality and objective understanding/interpretation of human situation....As a matter of personal belief, it ""may be"" ok but as a system of governance, it crystalizes you in time and leaves you at the "absolute" mercy of those with "unlimited" religious authority (a Mullah is only answerable to God....the SO-CALLED"DIVINE" AUTHORITY)....

your failure of understanding whichever religion you must have followed has left you feeling limited.
authoritarian systems are full of complexities. it is very important that one understands the difference between corruption and a system that is corrupted. else wise, you wont be able to identify it inside you as is the case with you.
