* My simplified definition of bad words and vulgarity consists of those words or phrases that would get most people suspended from school and/or fired from work.
Lately I have seen a lot of members here supporting some uses of bad words and vulgarity and I am curious as to know why it's considered to be acceptable by some if it is supposidly "proving a point"? Since when did it become necessary to use such language to prove a point? Can anyone say whatever they want or use whatever kind of examples they want so long as they claim they are doing so to proving a point?
Let me remind members that weeks ago someone posted a news article in the science section whose title mentioned the scientific (not slang) word of a male ducks private parts and due to complaints about THAT word being indecent it was removed from the title and the title changed to "Duck related info". I am not saying that was wrong. If that particular word offends/embarrasses members then I am glad it was removed. My point in bringing that up is that that was not even meant to be vulgar or provocative and yet people here protested against it.
If we can't even tolerate a word like that in a science article why are we tolerating slang references to female body parts, slang words for male bodily functions and slang words for reproduction ? Those are just a few examples.
