When ever the miracle happens of Pukhtoons getting their own independent country where it's a 'Pukhtoon-only' zone, then we should make sure we call it Moanistan, not a beautiful name such as Pukhtunistan.

i don't remember ever anyone in this forum begging toramana and sher khan to be calling themselves afghan. we don't care what you wanna call urself , really. get over it.
this is getting really old. why can't u guys post a meaningful topic, ok forget about meaninngful .. an entertaining one... do you always have to talk negative?
every topic is full of debate over afghan/pashtoon, hazara/pashtoon, tajik/pashtoon. this is really pathetic! why don't u just make ONE topic and stick to that one.... why spam the whole forum with this nonsense.

I am sorry ... it seems like we have plenty of children here as well.Originally posted by unhiddentruthBecause this Forum is for grown ups not children and its for all Pashtuns. That name has already attracted children in other platforms. This is for all Pashtuns. Many of you don't get the point of Toramans thread.
He means why are we calling ourselves Afghan? we should rather call ourselves Pashtun only. He made a poll and in result to his poll the majority preferred to be known as Afghans. Toramana just to let you know the majority from here are from Pakistan.
I also didn't really understand your reply to me ... When I put a question forth to Noorzai saab, it was more rhetorical and based on why would he leave (I assume he stated so based on an experience at the other forum, but not sure, thus I asked)... I didn't read anything else really as I find no point in such discussions ..
Lol Honestly the way most of you guys talk at times, it's really disgusting, and full of hate.
May Allah tala open our hearts inshaAllah and fill it with love and peace ... Ameen ya rabil alameen.

That is your opinion, and you initiated the forum. Majority of us look at the terms interchangeably...you can't complain in such a weird way when you didn't get what you wanted. Pa dranakht.Originally posted by Toramana View PostWhy not change the name of this forum to www.afghanforus.com? Why has it been left as pashtunforums despite the fact that majority of the members here have polled Afghan to be the more favorable name for Pashtuns?
Isn't it due to the fact that with changing the name to afghanforums Pashtuns would not be able to associate wit it because "Afghan" does mean just Pashtun? Isn't it a hypocrisy that we are not accepting the obvious fact that "Afghan" doesn't necessarily mean Pashtun and has lost its denotational value?

No. Its fine the way it is. Before many of you begin to point fingers and bring such extreme claims forward, it wouldn't hurt to PM me. This is a community for us all.
Thanks.Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
