Same. It sucks even more for us Pashtuns from the stolen/occupied lands. Since we are from non-independent territories (KPK-FATA-North Balochistan), we are always going to be classified as whatever Desis get classified as since Desis are the majority in Pakistan.

Yea i have only seen one pakistani pashtun in this country, for some reason the diaspora of pakistani pashtun in this country is much less. I actually mistaked the guy for iranian, afghan. If there were a majority of paki pashtuns in this country people would think that majority of pakistanis look like iranians and middle easterns but in reality the majority (the punjabis and other indics) look like other indians lol. It is unfair when pashtuns in pakistan have their culture and their identity being labelled with other indics when in reality the difference is black and white.

Cringey? What's cringey? Many people have preconcieved notions about afghans because it's 'south asian' (not because of geography but politics) all I was saying that these preconcieved notions can actually be very awkward to get around especially when most afghans don't consider themselves south Asians but rather Central and west Asians, and they are central/west Asian. How is that cringey? It seems to correlate to this topic.im also not basing this on looks but culture as well as geography. Some user made a good point that we are technically west Asian geographically, central Asian culturally and ethnically, as well as west Asian phenotypically. Politics is the only thing that makes it out as if its a South Asian country.Out of 4 of those things one of those that annoyed u was "looks" for some reason. I guess I have to make another account so I don't have u thinking I'm kilzai but rather an authentic afghan in a forum.

Then I had to explain that it is a crossroad between south west and central Asia, he told me that I should be proud of being South Asian and embrace this culture rather than larping as something else. Do u not understand the complexity of the situation? Btw the guy was Indian (not surprising) many of them seemed to be obsessed with afghans in real life as well as on the internet. Believe it or not I go to a school where many Indians claim foreign ancestry and they usually claim afghan ancestry, it's quite shocking because I thought originally this stuff only happens online but it happens IRL as well. If Afghanistan was "central Asian" politically this sort of stuff wouldn't happen, I am actually making a really good point but i don't think u have experienced these types of scenarios as I have. I'm not kilzai and I will not say it again.

In my life people have thought I was Arab, Half-this/Half That, Hispanic, Turkish, Persian, Indian, South American, Greek, Romanian, Half-Asian.....Westerners are largely clueless......nothing really to see here.

If u read what I said, I was clearly talking about people who didn't know afghans (has never seen one or are not familiar with them) I understand if someone has watched the news they associate it with middle East without a second look, in fact u just got to go on a youtube doc about afghans to clarify. But people who have not seen afghans at all and only hear "afghans are south Asians" (which is what is stated) they will have those preconcieved notions. I aIlso think that's why Desi's try to claim afghans and pashtuns. I don't think u understand but I am agreeing with . Most people I know associate with MEDs and Central Asians, those stupid ones who don't watch the news and read that they are south Asians (first thing that comes up when u type Afghanistan) have those preconceived notions. In fact people many people believe north Africans are not that different from South African - bet u didn't know that.

In my opinion Afghanistan fits in central asia more alongside the ex-soviet states; South Asia is like India or sri lanka and West Asian is like Arabs, and afghans are nothing like those.

I think I already told you that I was pashtunstar anyways it doesn't really matter because ur not understanding my points lol. That was my only alt in theapricity btw.
