  • What is wrong with some Afghan-Americans?

Yeah, what the hell is wrong with some of our fellow Afghans in the USA?? I have come across some weird Afghans on Twitter. They are like uploading pics of their ass and smoking weed and drinking whiskey and claiming to be Muslims at the same time. I recall this girl from Kabul living somewhere in Virginia, she claims to be a Muslima but few days ago she uploaded a video of herself twerking. When other people criticized her she replied "you guys are not real Muslims. You follow a culture and not pure Islamic values like me" and I was like wtf!! lol Another girl claimed that Prophet Muhammad was actually a feminist (?¿?¿?¿).

Iblis and Maneatinglizard, you guys live in the USA.. is this normal over there? Here in Europe we have also plenty of Afghan weirdos but never heard of an Afghan claiming that alcohol is actually halal lol

I think it is a case of nature vs nurture, the latter appears to have a strong effect on some people - doesn't matter if they are Afghan.

Well, apperently i found out i have more family settled down in America, than i thought after visiting my grandma. According to the pictures my aunt did show me(she was there too), the afghans there(apperently from my dad's side) didn't seem too different from us, despite they lives in bigger houses and wear western clothes a little more than us in Denmark(my family from both my moms and dads side, don't know many pahstuns over here). But i don't think this is too atypical(this thing probably occur around 12,5 percent of all pahstuns, yeah it's a madeup number, but i still think a nice chunk of us are like that over there in America), as a handfuld of turks and arabs are kinda like that over here in Denmark.

My cousin from my moms side did something like that(i think she went to a party and probably had a drink) and got caught. She didn't get punished too harsh. My dad tried to talk to her about this behaviour an why it's wrong. it probabl happened some years ago(i remember i was still a child), as i remember her acial expression, which was a mix of shame, nervousity and also a part of her trying to be calm, like everything was okay and smiled to me, as i went to the kitchen and saw both her and my dad talking about this matter.

There’s about a quarter million Afghan Americans. Some are highly educated, having led the US in Ambassador roles, to the CIO of the FBI, professors, engineers; some, however, have deviated, as you’d expect in just about any society.
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

I don't know if I'd say normal but it's there. Though I've never seen a girl twerking. I wouldn't put it past some. Honestly, things have gotten worse. I haven't been to an Afghan mela or mehman or anything in nearly 10 years. Afghans here are by in large a mess.

There's a Kandahari girl from Albany who is currently in prison for drug trafficking with her black boyfriend and her brother ....no joke.

There are some Afghans who are making good with their lives.

          I blame RAP music lol

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

True I was happy when trump banned immigration from some muslim countries, Its hard for people to retain their values and religion in such a decadent godless society unless your Imam is strong.

I think the inly way for these people to wake up and return to their senses is by being a harsh jolt of reality that the culture and society they sought so hard to fit into, still won't embrace them no matter how much they degrade themselves.

This is why I'm not Anti-Trump. he's a fool, but he's an instrument of God to remind the astray that they have nowhere else to turn.

Americans in general are lazy, racist, sexist, self entitled and trashy. Ironically, even the minorities who complain of being discriminated against are just as ignorant and racist as every body else. Basically one gets to experience different versions of ‘white trash’ mentality in people of all backgrounds.
For example, people of good taste don’t willfully watch videos of women twerking or emphasis on the skin colour of a criminal’s romantic partner.
It is in vain to think of a wilderness distance from the heart.

I have never been to USA so I don't know but i do feel Americans are extremely arrogant and ignorant people. Here in Europe we got all these American programs on the TV, Pimp my car or Hardcore Pawn. Most of Americans seem to be cheap, uneducated, bifarhang, money lover animals. I mean they are willing to do anything for money. N*ggers seem to be the worst.

I have met some White Americans in the GCC and in Europe and most of them were nice. But for some reason I really dislike Black Americans. I even believe they deserve all those cops killing them lol

So people with good taste live blind to the world around then ? Then how does one even address a problem without being aware of the problem?

There is a limit for everything, Admin Khan. My mothers cousins live in San Diego. Their children were born in the USA and they can't barely speak Farsi. But at least they hang with other Afghans, they kept core Afghan values (Muslims, family, ghairat, etc) and they even consider themselves Afghans not Americans. I can not blame them. They were born and raised in those circumstances, away of their home, so its not their fault. But claiming that Hindus are Ahl al Kitab or that Islam and Homosexuality are ok.. thats too much.

Same here. I would gladly support Trump if he wasn't a crazy Islamophobe. Still I am glad all these populist movements are on the rise. Its like a slap on the face of Westerner wannabes.

Reminds me of an Iranian friend. He is from Mazandaran and my best friend. Really nice guy but like many other Iranians doesn't care about Iranian traditions and is almost an European right now. Few months ago he sold his house so was looking for a house to rent. Nobody wanted to rent it to him because of his Iranian background. Although he is a good guy, light skinned, lawyer, "European pass", he really felt the discrimination and racism for the first time. It was like a wake up call for him lol

It reminds me of Tyrion Lannister:
